hello all!

i have just recently begun usuing crystals with my self reiki sessions and i am thinking about adding crystals to my sessions with others. currently i am using clear quartz and onyx with myself, but i will probaly also use amethyst and rose quartz with others. has anybody else added crystals to their client reiki sessions? i am interested in feedback and stories. i have a book about crystals and their uses but if anyone could suggest some ideas i would appreciate it. thank you

I see by your profile you were attuned just 3 months ago. Congratulations!

I would urge you to keep doing energy practices on yourself and your clearing. Using stones/crystals on yourself is perfectly fine while you are learning about their usages/energies. I would not recommend using them on others yet.

Just as books are helpful in learning about energy work, or crystals or any subject; it is the continued practice on one's self that is key to the entire experience and makes you the clearest channel you can be.

Books can help us begin on a journey but it is the personal usage and seeing what happens or does not happen that gives us our learning experiences in helping ourselves and then helping others.

Stones/crystals need much learning about and they need much care. (Clearing and charging etc.) A stone that you are called to to use may be good for you but not for someone else. We want to balance energies and not make them worse.

I have some very large rutilated quartz with ??? that so far have not been given a name to by a local gemologist. I took them to my Shaman teacher and she said she could not be around their energies as they are so very powerful. For me I can deal with them. So each stone is unique to each person.

Doing Reiki alone for now on someone else should be more than enough in my opinion. Stones/crystals usually will increase all energies many times over so I just say to you to exercise care and for now be with the stones yourself until you get a very good working experience with them.

Take your time, there is no rush, just be with the energies and see what unfolds to you. Keep a journal especially with your stone usage.
Clear and recharge your crystals regularly as they pick up lots of the negatives for you.

I love crystals

I have been using/being with them for many years

I sleep near them and have them all over my house

I have received attunements to be able to send their energies out of my hands

But I don’t find that they are very affective for healing.
(I define healing as the relief of pain and restoration of normal function)

Reiki is much more affective
Massage is much more affective
Many modalities are more affective

I have found that there is nothing I have done with a crystal that I can’t do with my hands

I just love them and spend much time with them.

I believe (this is my belief, this may not be others beliefs, experience or the ultimate truth) that they work in subtle ways and over a long periods of time. They work on more subtle levels. They are very spiritual.

They are like flowers, in a way. I love them and they have great energy but I would not expect a flower or a crystal by its self to heal a spasmed muscle, bad back, cancer, food allergy, digestive problems etc.

My advice,

Have fun

Play with them
(healing, meditating, keep them with you all day and feel their energy, etc)

Bring them into your Reiki sessions and feel/sense what happens. Keep it simple. Just use a crystal or two or three. Stay away from complicated crystal layouts and grids… unless you feel very drawn to work in that way.

Enjoy them

Donna is right, do not assume that any one crystal no matter how much you like it is right for everyone. (although it would most likely be alright, check anyway. It is very very very unlikely that anything unwanted will happen. Like a flower, how bad could it be to put one near or on someone? I have never heard of allergies to crystals as with flowers)

Don’t get swept up in a crystal buying craze. There is always one that is bigger, clearer, better or said to be more powerful, loving, work deeper, connected to higher planes, etc, etc, etc,. It can get very expensive.

Get a few crystals that you feel good about and enjoy them.

what i have been doing is cleansing the (quartz)crystals by taking them to my local creeks that ran fast and dropping them in the water and let them sit for 5-10 minutes. then i would take them out and let the sun dry them off. afterwards i would channel reiki into them and give them to fellow practioners to use. i am really interested in crystals with reiki use, but as you both so helpfully suggested, i am taking it nice and slow.
i will hold off on using crystals with clients until i can learn more about what crystals do with the human energy field and how reiki effects it. thank you for the help!

Take it at any speed that suits you.

There really is no fast or slow there is just the speed that you feel comfortable with.

Do not be afraid of experimenting/playing/being creative
(fear creates fear…love and play and the intension to help and heal creates love and play, help and healing)

You do not have to hold off on using crystals with clients…unless you feel that you should, follow your feelings.

Crystals and stones can be powerful healers. Have used them (without Reiki) to heal sinus infection, headaches and more. Knowing when and how to use them takes practice. A good beginning is to learn to listen to them. The stones will often tell you when to use them. Never leave them in place on the body for more than 10 minutes. They can over stimulate the body's energy system.

I keep mine all over the house. The healing stones are kept near wneh I do a healing. Often a stone will tell me to add it to a session.

I am a Reiki Master and not only work with crystals (both on people and animals) but many other types of stones may be incorporated along with your Reiki. For myself and husband I sometimes give a stone (ex: zebra for healing) Reiki and then carry it in a pocket. When I treat a client I sometimes have them hold a specific stone, or place it on their body providing they are open to the idea. There is a lot of information on the internet re metaphysical properties of gemstones. I have a dog that is having some problems and when I do Reiki on her I have also introduced a specific stone. The first time I put a stone to her body her ears went back & her eyes got big with fright! For her it was too intense with the stone so I put the stone down and continued with my Reiki (which she loves and actually does a purr to). Remember Reiki... can do no harm so read, research and experiment with different variants. Enjoy your journey! :)

An interesting thing about crystals is that if read 10 different books and talk to 10 different people you will get 5 or 10 different ways of working with them.

But do read up on them and do talk to people about them.

And do experiment and play with them

Just make up you own mind in the end

I also noticed some sources stress different aspects than others even if they mention the same uses.

Or in some cases no particular quality is stressed and one might not understand that certain stones are better at certain things even if they have the same listed qualities.

I say the best bet is to learn to speak with them so that they can tell you about themselves.

It's like tarot cards. Folks say differnt things about the individual cards. Some may have similarities or say the same general things while other sources may differ greatly. But from what I hear , the best tarot readers are the ones that scrap the books and intuitively read the cards.

Alot of the differing info is why i never got too much into crystals/stones , tarot or runes ( tho i have found a good rune book and working with runes seems far more comfortable to me than tarot. Tho i am not experienced with them other than minor dabbling i rarely found tarot readings to make much sense to me in relation to what goes on in my life, where as i have had some very very insightful rune readings from my first experiences with them)

Faithinfire, Lazaris has shared more about the use of crystals than anyone I know of. Lazaris is a being who has never been human, who is brought in by Jach Percel. There is running conversation on the net under Lazaris.com. However, I do not feel Lazaris in this sharing. It seems to me to be the energy of Jach not the energy of Lazaris. I remember when he was writing books, and Jach would say his say before he opened up to Lazaris. Lazaris commented that he did not like the editorial and stopped doing the books. You can order a tape in which Lazaris discribes crystals and how to work with them. It is old, done in the 80's but still current in information.
