I m pretty sure this has come up before but since I was not here, I 'll ask anyway:

What does one need in order to set up a Reiki practice in your countries?

Hi,

Here in the UK primarily public liability insurance. I don't think much else is required legally other than that. I know it's different in certain states of America though with regards to licences etc.

whatever, I live in Washington State in the US. I began spiritual healing work in the 70's with Inner Peace Movement. We were provided a card showing we were licensed healers of our church. As the State can not question a church's functions, we were covered. Now, we continue that tradition by having a license from our church. None of us has ever been questioned anyway. Who is going to report us. I place an ad in the paper from time to time for hands on healing. There is no flack. I suggest you go ahead and provide reiki to your clients. They are not going to report you, and who else would?

Not getting into trouble and not having the potential to get into trouble are two different things.

You never know who is gonna flip out over a treatment. Not everyone who seeks Reiki understands Reiki. Some folks expect a miracle cure and if you do not provide it then you're a "quack" and they'll try to get you in trouble.

Conflagration, this sounds like creating a problem where none exists. It is like buying life insurance which is in effect calling for your own death in order that someone collects it. Do you really understand how you create your own reality?
