The Reiki Cafe 

Hello everyone,
I realise that it is not very appropriate to start a new topic just to introduce myself but I hope you dont mind. Well, I have been using Reiki for nearly a month now. I have 1 Level. What I am concerned about is that I don`t feel a thing while treating myself with Reiki. I even started thinking that I just havent got my initiation right...If you could give me an advice that`d be great! Thanks!
P.R. Excuse me if my English is too bad, but it is not my native language and I still do mistakes...

Welcome to the Cafe and to Reiki!! :)
Some people do report that they do not feel much when self treating so you are not alone by any means. At Level 1, self Reiki every day with attention to preparation of self beforehand & practice of the hand positions, etc. is more important than your sensation of the energy. Be gentle with yourself, there are no tests and grades, we proceed at our own pace. However, one might not know that from all the attention we give to what we "feel" during Reiki! In some circles those that feel the most & report those feelings get a great deal of attention. Do not worry so much about feeling, it may just take you awhile. Level 1 is a level of self exploration so remember that you are going at the speed that best suits you. We rarely get what we want, more often we get what we need.
When you Reiki another person do they feel anything? Have you talked with the RM that trained you? Hands on practice in a Reiki share or circle is great for practice & gaining confidence. It may take awhile for you to "feel" the energy as the sensations & the perception of the energy flow differ from one Reiki practitioner to another. Try some relaxation excercises before Reiki if you find yourself focusing on results.
Reiki can be very subtle.
Im sure others will share with you here at the Cafe. It is good to see a newbie post so please do not hesitate to post your questions!!

Thank you all for the warm welcoming! :) I am pretty glad you didn`t laugh at me, cause I really have no suprising or extreme sensations during the sesions. A friend of mine-a Reiki Master, told me the same you people here did. According to her I expect too much and I should slow down "trying" to feel something and let Reiki do what is best for me. Now I see you think that way too. I formed my opinion that i "didn`t get" Reiki right because I heard descriptions of a Reiki session explained with superlatives like "warm", "undescribable"...and i started thinking : "wow,what is wrong with me...". According to my RM that is the wrong side of sharing:experience is not the same and people like me get frustrated if they dont sense the thing others have sensed. I hope I wasnt too boring. I am glad to be here and share with you!

Welcome to this board and welcome to reiki. Sensation is misleading. So don't worry at all. Just be reiki and let reiki teach you. reiki I IS reiki. No other reiki improves on it at all as the other levels are for some other purpose than to increase reiki. what increases is that you open up to receive it. And being reiki is what opens you up more. You will begin to find the emotions and beliefs that may be disguising yourself to you. However, that comes at its own pace, too. So it comes down to practice self reiki a lot. Every time you have a few minutes spend it being reiki. Forget about sensation.

Hey sweetie,
Congrats on your attunement! Don't worry if you can't feel much right now. Just keep sending the Light through you from the crown and out your feet a few times a day and visualize yourself opening that Channel that flows through you. You will start to feel more sensation.
Also don't forget to lay hands on your heart every night.

Lastly sweet heart, Remember Reiki is who you are, not what you do. You are this energy you are Learning about. It's impossible to miss the mark where your intention is strong. Just know that this is a shift you are moving through, believing in yourself and the power you hold to help heal yourself.
Be especially kind during this first level. This is the mode of self healing and strengthening your Channel.

thank you all once again!it is a real pleasure to be among you. i would like to know what do you guys talk about here. i tried to read a part of the discussion but i am not quite sure weather i got it right. i wonder can you suggest any literature about Reiki i could use. now i read Diane Stein`s Essential Reiki. i think it is a nice book and explains a lot of the Reiki "mystery". recently i discovered the quiet minutes of just sitting without thinking. it is a nice feeling. may be after i learn more about Reiki, i could try a meditation. i dont know whee to start.it seems to me that i have discovered a brand new world.
as to the sensations.i accept your advice. i will keep trying and the light will come to me.

You are nice people here. :) I have a question. I read a material explaining that Jesus Christ have lived after his crucifixion and kept on spreading Reiki in India. I am not trying to start a relligious debate. I just want to hear your opinions, because to me as a Christian that doesn`t make sense. But that German writer seems convinced in what he talks about. What do you guys think about it?

Otoharo! My viewpoint comes from the story in the book Urantia. However, he gained supremecy at that time and could do anything he wanted to do.

I think its very possible that he married Mary Magdelene and had a few children. Yes, well he did come back so why not teach?
The scriptures have been twisted and turned to convey a certain message. It is pretty well known that Mary was not a prostitute but they needed that spin in order for their story to sell.
Constantine actually removed the information about reincarnatino in the scriptur because his wife didn't believe in it. Then he had a round table discussion with a bunch of men whom decided what was to go into it. Pretty scary if you ask me.
instead of having Jesus be this amazing enlightened teacher and passionate person, they made him into this untouchable idol that no one can possible attain.
Jesus is a wonderful metaphore for your own inherent goodness.
Don't take my word for it. Go within and ask yourself the questions that burn within your heart and beg for healing.
You are just as wonderful as Jesus and you are just as much of a blessing.
What is the message you come to teach? Jesus taught about the power of forgivenss and Love.

Its all so good. No one will ever truly know what went on back in the day because so much information is supressed. Its supressed because those in power in the religous world are afraid to lose their power if Jesus is seen as an enlightened spiritual teacher.
No one can really save another. You have to own it you have to claim it for yourself in Your own Name.

Well, thanks finality and thank you too jahnavi18!it was really nice to hear some other points of view that differ from mine.as to me- i believe that Jesus was the son of God who sent him here to die for the humankind that way saving us. i know that may be i am a little conservative and old-fashioned and may be i just don`t want to accept that the true may be different, but that is the way i feel about it. may be the Total Energy, The Source or the Goddess or the absolute power- this is what i call God and we all take our inner strenght from Him- i don`t know. but enough with "may be"s.
now, i want to share my last night`s experience with Reiki. i started treating myself and i felt that my palms got a little hoter and i had some sensations in the legs. it was like they were to heavy to move or like someone was pinning me with a needle but not until hurt.it was not too unpleasant. i can`t explain how exactly was it, im sorry but the more important for me i that i actually felt something. what got me really frustrated was when i layed hands on my heart.friends, i dindt feel a thing, i dont know...however, that was from me for now.thanks for listening and if you could give a piece of advice i would be glad.

Let me ask you a question on religion.
Do you have children? If you do, or if you think of a niece or some child you love. Would you want them to be more then you, or would you want them to be smaller than you?
I'm not trying to change your mind, just Perhaps, expand your mind.
One of the things that organized religion teaches is that we are less then Jesus somehow. Not his equal. We are in truth inherently good and just as good as Jesus.
Just like FK says about karma. No one can dispense it but you. Hey, if God was making up all the rules, why would he make it so we had to be saved from anything?
Doesn't this sound a bit like fear to you?
Once I found that God loved me just as I am, I was able to start to the process of letting go of these beliefs.
God has high self esteem. Therefore he needs nothing from us. He just loves us as we are now.. in the Moment. To ask any of us to be who we are not would be cruel.
You are so beautiful and You are innocent.
Come from this expression of yourself and save yourself from Pain.
You can't love someone you fear. Because the fear will always stand in the way of your freedom. You have to believe you are always free and have always been free.
Jesus came as a teacher of uncondtional love. The crucifixtion came about as part of our wounding, not because Jesus loved us so much.
Its just that Jesus knew/knows who he is and would not lie for anyone to make them feel comfortable.
Jesus was a leader and lots of his speeches were very, very powerful and talked about claiming our inherent goodness and Oneness with God.
This is the stuff that was surpressed.. Jesus was a radical! Very passionate and he wanted everyone to lay claim to the bounty that was layed before us, our right to the inheritance of the Kingdom of Heaven. Because Jesus knew it was within us. These things ye too shall do, and more... Ok..

Onward to your healing experience!

Sounds like you are starting to feel a bit more and this is great. Try working on expanding your awareness by expanding the Central Column of Light within you.
There is a light that shines through you. Its actually all around but for focusing purposing we will just say it flows through you.
See a Light from above your crown, entering your head. Allow it to flow like a river through you and out your feet.
Down, down, into the core of Mother Earth. Wrap that energy around the heart of Mother Earth and say, " I am connected to Mother Earth"...
Then allow the light to flow back up through your feet and body, out your head and waaaaaaaaaaaaay up into the highest heavenly realms. Connect with Heaven. Say, "I Am now connected with Heaven and Earth"
You don't have to concentrate on this specifically anymore that your connected.
Now breathe the Light of heaven through your head and into your heart as you breathe the light of Mother Earth up into your heart at the same time.
Breathe it in and when you breathe it into your heart, expand your Light there.. Make it bigger.
Also start to become aware of this light traveling through you.. As you breathe into your heart, also expand your Column of Light.
Do not worry! This is as simple as a thought. Let it be easy. Know it is done. Energy always follows thought.
Continue with breathing the light within your head and feet up into your heart as you expand your heart chakra and the column of Light.
Make your heart as big as you like and make your column of Light about three feet around you. Know it is around you..

Continue this about five or ten minutes.
Then when ready, say you are coming back to the room. Star pressing your feet into the floor and breathing more deeply and letting it out slowly while saying your back in your body..
Now.. See around you about three feet a beautiful golden Light. This is completely surrounding you and it your aura. Around the edges, make it a deeper gold colour and make it about two or three inches deep.. Don't worry if you can't see it, know its there or just sense its there..
Make sure that this light is above your head, below your feet, and around the front and back of you.
Put your awareness on all these areas.
Check the back. Make sure you are covered..
When you feel comfie, maybe a minute or two of breathing, then now ask a brilliant deep blue light to encompass your golden light.
Feel the serenity of this light around you.
After a minute of breathing this light around your golden light, place a Violet Light around this.
This is your transmuter Light.
Ask now that any energy that is not yours be returned healed and whole to whomever it belongs.
See, sense, feel your hands and feet.
See violet screens on them now. Know they are there becuase you have intended it be so.
Say,
Any energy that I have pulled up from Mother Earth that is not balanced, and of the highest vibration, I send back down into Mother Earth to transmute into Light.
Now I seal my feet from ever taking any energy that is not of the highest vibration from mother earth. I also seal my hands from ever taking energy in that is not of the highest vibration.
What will happen is now when any energy hits your hands that is not of the highest caliber, the violet light will transmute it for you.
Strengthen this belief within you by visualizing the beautiful violet colour in your hands and feet chakras when you think of these chakras.

Sit with this energy for a bit. Really come back into the body with some more breathing and looking around where you are. Make sure that your roots are connected deeply with Mother earth.

Continue with holding your hands on your heart at night and ask to release any stagnant energies that you are ready to release. Don't worry if your hands fall away as you sleep. The healing will continue.

Wow, thank you for the posting,jahnavi18! that exersice with visualization is great. i am going to try it as soon as i go home.to answer your question:do i have any children, No, i don`t. as a matter of fact i am kind of a child or somewhere in the middle.im 17 :)) hopefully become 18 in December :))) that thing with the violet light i read somewhere about...it sounds nice and i should try it. i am concerned about my REiki 1 initiation. i got it from distance. i mean,i have never seen my RM.it was a kind of celebration of the REiki day in August when a group of Reiki Masters in my country decided to make a mass initiation to everyone who wanted.i don`t even know who made mine.i was told to sit on a chair and express my wanting to get the Reiki initiation sent for me.i did it and i got a sense of a warming in my body.but the others in the forum (the place in Internet where i first heard about Reiki) expressed some kind of emotions i didn`t felt. and now i think i didn`t get my initiation right.i don`t know i m not sure, on the other hand when i treat myself i got some sensations, even if they re weak. i am really confused. as a matter of fact i live on a distance from the city where all my cyber friends live and i cannot go (for now) and take my initiation in real conditions what feel sorry for...i am so insecure.that is one of the reasons i want to use Reiki for self-healing and of course others around me.i am too nervous and i am afraid of everything...i really want to believe and accept the light and i think i am trying but one of the RM i met on line tells me that i want my nervousness and that is a choice i have made.i try to change but the steps i do are too small and rare,,,

I'm glad you liked the healing with the violet light. The violet light transmutes negative energy, so use it liberally.
In regards to your attunement. Yes, of course you received the attunement, you even felt it in your hands and body as you stated. The thing you have is NO TRAINING! There is a difference.
There is a reiki site by Vinnie Amador that would be invaluable to you about now. You can read up on the energy and what it does and how it works.
If you cannot get the information there I can send you some. I have a number of manuals I'd be most happy to send you. Reiki is about finding your heart sweety.
Reiki is about letting go of your fears.
Its quite normal to be anxious, don't let anyone assist you in feeling guilty about feeling that way. You just do and thats the truth. Don't ever run from your truth, you are so worthy of being loved.
If you just sit with your feelings instead of running from them the feelings will leave. Just say, hey I have this feeling.. Whats that from? Be more curious then condemning. You do not need a judge in your life, I'm sure you have had plenty of that!
Are there libraries where you live where you can get any reiki books? How bout a inexpensive way to get the Reiki Essentials Book? Thats Diane Stein.
You can learn this on your own but its much more challenging without someone to guide your steps.

Not as your crutch and give you all the answers No.. But to assist you with questions and help you understand more about the energy your working with yes. :}

You have alot of growing to do in the years ahead and you are so blessed to have found Reiki. Reiki will help you clear out all the issues you have been hiding from. Remember that there is nothing you have done or will do that is not worthy of being healed because you are Nothing But Love.

I like the way you treat me. So polite and gentle and that is when you barely know me! :) Thank you very much. I want to tell you and the others at the Reiki cafe here that finding you on the Web has turned another page in my "education".
Few months ago while surfing on the Net i came across a web site magicaura.com. i registered there in order to read more about astrology. Im Sagittarius and wanted to learn more about this sign. So, i read into the forum and kept rushing into the word Reiki. When i asked what it was i learned the principle of it i decided that i want it. but for now it seems kind of expensive to me,furthemore i live at a great distance from the city of Sofia, Bulgaria`s captal, so i can`t go when i want. i dont know anyone there...Whatever that is my desperate attempt to explain why i havent meet anyone of the RM i talk to yet...
So, i have Diane Stein`s book. I think i bought something written by Penelopy Quest. I am really trying hard to learn more. as a matter of fact i came across you while searching for Reiki on the Internet. It would be nice if you could recommend me some literature about it.

You seem to want more information then I assumed at first. I was alive when Jesus was on earth. He was so gentle and kind that some of the elders among the Hebrews were afraid the world would never notice this person after his death. They were the ones who ended up getting his crucifiction. And that was solely so that the whole world would notice him and his life. God did not send him. He came becasue he knew the Lucifer rebellion and the person from Satania (who came to be known as Satan) had caused the humans on earth who were still rather primitive to have great difficulty. HOwever, at the same time humans had a good definition of what they could feel is right and what they could feel is wrong. Jesus has a Universe name and function that his life here fits into. The number of stars that you can see with your naked eyes are in the universe that he created life forms to inhabit. He is the leader of this portion of creation. He is a son of God like many others like him. We all are in our own way.

Thanks for the complete answer. I am wondering how exactly have you remembered your previous lives? Is it a kind of regression? And what if i would like to remember mine? How could I do that?
I am so happy you talked nice things about Jesus. I wish I knew him. I feel so ordinary among all you people here... However, I hope in THIS life i will accomplish my mission and get free of the Carmic obsessions. That is all from me for now!
