Blunt speech

Otoharo!

I am likely the oldest among us here at this communication board. Whether that is a fact or not, I have been a member of a group that requires one to be completely open, above board, and we end up being blunt in our speech. There is nothing to cover up. We do not have to soft soap what we say because we are all in this together for the sole purpose of cleaning up our act. Therefore, when I reread things I say sometimes, I am agast at how blunt I sound. Please take me with a grain (of something). I tend to say exactly what I see, or think, or feel at the moment.

Also, when I was working, I encouraged people to live their life as themselves without having to cow-tow to the opinions of others. Others have no power over us. They do not decide whether we "go to heaven or not". We have a direct line to the Source, no one can interfere with that. So the opinions of other people may be joyous to us or rankle us mightily, but this is of no consequence when we know who and what we are and are becoming.

finality,

Dia dhuit trathnona.

Nowt wrong with plain speaking. I was born in the West Riding of Yorkshire - we invented it!!!

It is my opinion that more plain speaking would be good for the World - at least we would all know where exactly we stood.

Good health to you,

Slan go foille agus beannacht leat.

Brian.

Namaste Finality.
I feel there is nothing wrong in being frank. I think that its better to be that way than playing double games. I am a very frank person and I dont keep anything inside, has to comeout! So recently I lost a good friendship because I was frank! After this experience, I am trying to develop a little bit of diplomacy, I take care not to hurt anyone, but at the same time convey what I want to convey using softer words. I learnt that driving my point is important without hurting anyone.

Hi there, it's the 5th Oct here..
well now we all know 'your' way, so no need for any confusion or hurt feelings on our part...we are all different in our ways of speech,
also coming to this board from 'all the ends of the globe' ways with words can mean different things..... words can cut, words can show love, words can say great wisdom, words can mean crap, words can comfort, when you think of it, it is the spoken word that tells the truth.....but as one poster on here said, "there are softer ways of getting your point across", it will still 'mean' the same thing... a lot of us come on here for just that, 'words' of wisdom & advise......luv to you always, Wendy xxxx

A Diplomat is someone who can tell you to go to hell in such a way that you are looking forward to the trip.

Finality,

Namaste :)

I repsect blunt because you know exactly where you stand with blunt.

Unfortunately my own bluntness and preference for honesty has not always been the easy path where some friends and inlaws are concerned! :)

Gentle Blessings
Helen

Otoharo!

After reading all that you have replied, I am realizing that it is only now that I am an elder that I have aquired the ability to be point blank in speech. I have been noted for being diplomatic. A social worker has to be!

'tis one of the gifts of living long! I look forward to the day I can always speak my mind and not second guess myself afterwards. Working on it, but there are still twinges after the speaking. However, I KNOW that what is being said must be said. So, consider yourself BLESSED! and P.S. I have never taken offense at any of your posts! Hugs,
Feather

I aspire to being blunt, and enjoy learning from people like you who are good at it, finality! It is the most compassionate thing, speaking your heart plainly to others. It calls out the best in people. Continue!

Blessings,
Aronaya
