Absolute Permission

Hi everyone

After reading re permission for the recipient of Reiki I feel that I am so lucky to be dealing with animals.

One knows straight away if you have the permission or not especially with horses.

They either boot you out of the stable or try and bite your head off, although this is not generally the case, trust in Reiki it can do no evil, take up your own protection prior to giving or sending Reiki.

Trust your own gut feeling, if its right to send Reiki to someone only good will prevail.

Hi Gavstar

Many thanks for the mail, my theory is if it's not broken dont fix it, and to me Reiki is not broken, if it is given, or sent, or even on a higher plane just thought about, it will do no harm to anyone.

Hi, gavstar,

Y'know, sound thinking might be facilitated if you'll answer the questions that are put to you. Why not give me the benefit of your thinking in the context of my concerns?

So then you are implying that those who do not have your opinion are then not soundly thinking?

For myself I ask my pets if they choose to have Reiki before I send anything.Whether they wish for it and how much depends on the individual circumstance.

Hi everyone,
I am getting confused now about all of these permissions that we have to ask for and answers we need before we can try and help someone or something.
My question is if one is sending energy to help mother earth to heal or a disaster situaion who gives us the permission?

Blimey thats a bit harsh...talk about putting words into peoples mouths!

I must be allowed to agree with people here who fit what my own thoughts are ..if you choose ot talk to your dog so be it....I chat to my cats all the time. Why do you get so hot under the collar about things that really dont matter?

I just enjoyed a comment on this forum thats all....

Hi All,
I have not read many of the posts as there are farrr to many, LOL but I will weigh in with my 2 cents.

I ask for permission because with reiki we are effecting a person on many levels and that can have a huge effect on a person's life. If they are emotionally a mess from a treatment they have the right to know why, when and how this is happening. I would also not appreciate it if someone were to work on me that I did not approve of due to their poor teaching, poor practicing, etc.

I have learned that no, perhaps reiki can "do no harm" but a practitioner that has little experience sure as heck can!

I have worked with clients that go into healing crisis and are very confused, crying, angry, and don't understand why. As a pratitioner I feel I have a responsibility to care for that person throught their healing process.

If I pray for someone in distress, I pray for beings with higher knowledge than myself to care for that person. There, in my opinion, is a difference.

OK, so maybe 5 cents worth, LOL

Love and light,
Tracey

Thank you; now maybe our exchanges can be constructive. In light of your clarification on a previous thread, I want to be sure I'm not misconstruing your statements here. So, given that you haven't sent reiki w/o first obtaining the recipient's consent, could you explain under what circumstances you _would_ go ahead and send it without permission?

Thanks.

Bruce

healinghorses,

/*\ Namaste :-}}

- yes, with hands-on reiki the issue is much clearer

- how many people routinely put their hands on other people to do reiki without asking first?

- distance reiki is quite another matter - and even an animal cannot tell you easily if it doesn't want reiki if you do the practices distance-wise

- asking permission is a matter of respect among humans

- I feel it is also with an animal but need to wait for other clues as to whether the energy is desired or not (our cat will very readily come for Reiki, unbidden or will let us know if she does not want the energy when it is offered

I work with animals with Rapid Eye Technology as well as Reiki to release stress and Trauma. I always ask permission prior to doing anything with animals. Recently, because I knew the animal well, I didn't ask permission. The results were very clear. Tha animal resented the work being done with out his permission or prior knowledge.

I asked for clarrification. I'm not hot under the collar at all. I asked if that is what you were communicating as i took that as a possibility.

Please by all means feel free to explain what was meant by the statement.Admittedly I did read it that way but phrased it as a question so as to allow for the fact i may have misinterpretted. To me when one communicates in such a fashion it is saying that they feel there is a lack in such department. It's not that you agree with what she said at all. That aspect is a total non-issue. Some will agree on some topics while others will disagree. You communicating you like what she says is one thing. You communicating that she has offered something sorely lacking in others (at least as of late) is another.Your statement would state that others have not been thinking soundly on the permission issue. I take this from your direct wording. "Thank goodness, finally some sound thinking..". This to me clearly would state that others have not been thinking soundly and you are relieved that someone has.But perhaps it is a semantics issue hence the question mark at the end of my...question.

If I disagree with you on something that's it a disagreement. We're not required to see eye to eye on any issue.

Getting hot under the collar as you put it is a bit different. An example of me doing so would be my response to wamps within the past week ( a very specific post in response to what i construed to be quite rude though i'm over that now too). In this example you can clearly see my respond in a very hostile and irect fashion. There is no guess work involved. There is no " well maybe what he meant was.." I am often quite blunt so it may come across as harsh or correctional when it is nothing of the sort. Even in my response to you and the ip address post I was merely giving you food for thought.

In the case of mother earth i would say she should be asked for permission. When working with any living thing be it plant or animal ( including humans) I simply choose to ask. Sometimes I am sure of the response I recieve, sometimes I am not. If I got even a remote hint of a no i do not proceed. If I got a yes but was unsure then I would apologize in advance for any disrespect but send anyways and state to such being ( i assume they can hear such things better than myself) to feel free to reject it that i am unsure of the answer and how to proceed but i do not wish to offend it or disrespect it's own chosen path but i do not know how else to go about the situation. If I feel the energy is not flowing as it should this to me is an indication that it is not wanted and therefore i do not go on. But i go the side of respect first instead of using it as a cop out as many ( not all) do.

My view is that is depends on how you wish to do so. One technique is to simply send the energy out into the area so that those who wish can take it. You are sending to the open space of the disaster area. Not a specific person, place or thing. Those people places and things that wish for it would then be able to take it in whether conciouss or subconciouss is irrelevant.

If however, you think along the lines of sending to say the disaster victims directly. Then I feel this is just a larger issue of the permission topic. If you believe it's okay go for it. It is your decision noone can make it for you. I however always go the permission route. If one believes in always obtaining permission then it would be no different just because the numbers are larger.

As for situations in general. I try not to send to a situation directly. As in sending so it all works out for the best or sending for specific outcome. This to me falls under the category of not being able to accept a situation and go with the flow. So to me it's just another work around for not following the spiritual path. My view is that using energy work in such a fashion comes from a place of disharmony. Even if we want to but don't we are taking the high road. Wanting to change things for the better is normal. However as imperfect beings we do not know what is better.A bad situation positively dealt with and accepted may pave the road for a wonderful situation later.

Dear Conflagration,
Dont forget the wrath of the wee anklebiters! Never underestimate the power of a little doggie!
Once I had the misfortune to have a cat crawl up my body to get away from a dog & you just havent lived until you have had two sets of claws stuck in your scalp by a cat with hair & body standing on end! I think I ran around like Benny Hill trying to get that cat off my head. :)
