Hi everyone,
A freind of mine has a son (aged16) who has epilepsy, and has asked me to channel reiki for him.
Has anyone in the cafe treated this before, or had good or bad results. I could do with a little guidence on this one please,
Much light to you all, Ray

Never worked on it myself. So I can't say.Hopefully someone can be of more direct guidance.
My advice as to how I would go about it would be to do some studying on epliepsy itself. Learn what causes it. What exactly in the body is affected by it. Where it stems from. Any details you can find.
Then meditate on and/or logically deduce where you feel the best areas to treat would be.Also (with permission if you believe in it) try to find a way to connect with the youngin and see if you can find the actual spiritual root of the problem.
I feel this is gonna be a very long term treatment thing. Learning as you go. Even someone with experience can only tell you so much because individuals react to Reiki quite differently.

Hi Ray
Reiki has had some good results with Epilepsy. There is a ton of data on the internet about it.
Reiki will not per se cause someone to fit, but commonsense dictates that you have someone around who knows how to cope with a fitting person should that happen.
It may also be wise to place them on something they can't roll off of to do the treatment.
Namaste

Hi there,
Since I asked the question about Reiki and Seizures I have been sending my friend Reiki. She lives quite far away so I have been been doing distance sends.
I do ask one thing when I send. I ask that she only receive what is right for her at this time and to be careful that it does not cause a seisure.
So far sending reiki has not caused a seizure and she feels that she is having less seizures.
Love and Light to You All,

Hi Ray,
I have treated two people who have/had epilepsy. One was a guy in probably his fifties, who had had major problems with epilepsy but was desperate to get well enough to travel. A friend of his, who I knew through business, asked if I would see him - obviously I said yes, if he wished. I treated him on a regular basis for a number of months, giving a full body treatment. Some people advise not touching the head, but I was guided to do a normal treatment. Last I heard of the guy he was up a mountain in Peru, doing exactly what he wanted to be doing.
The other patient was a young teenager whose mother approached me, and asked if I would see her. She had occasional seizures which had been diagnozed as epilepsy, and was very withdrawn ... but she said yes to being treated.
Her mother brought her, and I treated her over a period of time until she and her mother said she was free of seizures. The Reiki had a tremendous effect for the good for her from Day One, her mother said she did not recognize her own daughter, her whole demeanour changed from just one treatment. They have since moved away, so I no longer see her.
Reiki does wonderful things.
These are the only patients I have treated who had epilepsy, but I hope my experiences will give you some hope.
Love andlight,
philanty

Hi Ray,
Speaking from my experience with working with a child that has epilepsy and from what I have read aboout reiki and epilepsy, be very careful.
When I have been "reiki" around this child her seizures are more prominent. When I guard my self and do not put out too much energy she is OK. I have not experimented with this so could be coincidence, but I can feel her seizures come on and don't think it is coincidence.
I have also read, can't remember specifically where, that reiki can trigger seizures and should be used with caution. I have heard this about bi-polar and other brain issues as well.
Let us know how it goes.
Love and light,
Tracey

dakota, a little OT, but what exactly have you learned about Bipolar and reiki. If you don't remember that's fine, but I'm all about this.
as for the epilepsy,
have treated my cousin with sei-he-ki. she responded well.
for myself, with bipolar
sei-he-ki and alot of grounding.
makes it managable, but still a problem.

Otoharo!
In the Real world, desease does not exist. Reiki from the standpoint is holding the space for what is real.

I have only read that reiki can induce seizures and make bi-polar,and mental illness worse. Increase of manic phases and other symptoms. Perhaps the writers did not use SHK or did not know the difference?
If you have had good results then go on your experience and exercise caution as in any case. So very glad it helped.
Blessings,
Tracey

Thanks alot Dakota for the info.
I'm still doing as much research as I can on this as it is an area of persoanl concern and I'm pretty disgusted with most of the psychiatric/ medical community's barbarism and "take this pill, side affects scmide effects, oh the diabetes/renal/hepatic failure has nothing to do with the fact that this pill is very dangerous and will probably have a lawsuit coming out soon because people are getting very ill but the FDA is infallable- NEXT!!!"
attitude. It's become a mission.
It's odd that the drugs for epilepsy are prescribed as mood stabilizers for bipolar, with the one exception of lithium....there must be some similarites in the area of the brain that is responsible for or part of these disorders.
Anyone who might have some useful info on either of these two topics, or knows of someone who is making new headway into these particular imbalances
and I apologize for hijacking a thread-
please send them my way.
If this bit of info helps you,
I can sureley say that I had a very rough/ painful ride through my attunement process and I was very emotional.
Latley, with herbs (Scullcap although known to cause liver toxicity has been used for epilepsy and "madness" for centuries...It has been invaluable for me [used with aproppriate liver detox herbal cleansings] and homeopathy I have managed to stabilize to a much more comfortable level than when I was on pharmecuticals, but it's still a bumpy ride....but not a stoned, deadened one anymore.

I'm sorry I'm coming to this late, but I wanted to share my experiences. My Beloved has epilepsy, although he hadn't had a seizure for about a year before I got my Reiki 1. I have given him Reiki every day since then, although not necessarily a full 'session'. He has still not had a seizure. I also attuned him roughly 3months ago. So I would have to disagree - at least in our case - that Reiki energy causes or triggers seizures. I believe it to help.
Good luck!
