HI everyone!!!

I took a new job teaching and am working with a supervisor in spec ed who has a very negative affect on me, I get headaches when I am around her and I am not the only one. She has very intense negative energy and seems to be an obstacle in my path, she tries to find faults in everything. I tried to surround myself with the protection of St. Michael and other angels. I blessed her and sent her to her highest good. ANy other suggestions????I think she will retire hopefully soon. Butnow I try to avoid her as much as pssoble. Everyone else feels the same way!!! I am in special ed too and for some reason , this factor seems to go with the territory! Anyway, I can relate to it and in each instance, I found that as negative as the situatiion was, I did learn from it in that it freed me from my ego just a bit more. The more freedom I got, the better I was able to deal with these kinds of people. So, in addition to doing the shields and other kinds of energy work, I also needed to talk to myself, prepare myself and logically deal with the situations instead of emotions ruling my actions. Dear Eirelassey,
Perhaps the strain of trying to be upbeat at a new job despite the negativity of your supervisor has something to do with the headaches. It is a challenge to deal with negative coworkers but a supervisor can be a nightmare!

Can you see beneath to what misery must be in her mind, heart & soul? If you can muster some true compassion because of her suffering things may lighten a bit for you. Every situation is different & I cant say I know what is right in this one. Though I have had good results with letting go of my feelings & acknowledging to myself the misery in the other (...started to listen & observe with a different eye & ear & heard/saw pain)..this was after a long haul of righteous indignation at the way she treated me...it was easier for me to see her as the bad guy & much harder to see that she was full of fear. That does not mean that this relates to your situation, simply that I am reminded of it. It wasnt about protecting myself from her or her negativity as I originally thought, it was always about my reaction to her, the lesson was there.

This sounds like an issue of yours, not her's. Be sure you are not projecting your own 'ambitions' onto her. As for sending to her highest good? Be sure that this does not mean that she is supposed to 'unblock your path' which would be for your good, not hers, presumeably.

Thanks for your responses, thought provoking but I am not looking for an analysis. Just some more tools for dealing with a bulldozing personality. Yes, we all have our issues, and even though One maybe hurting and we all have reason to be. I am never mean to people. What exactly did you learn from the situation??

You asked for suggestions so I had some.

I would say that without an 'analysis' one does not know the nature of the task one is facing, the energies involved, and how much we are the problem not the solution.

Simply asking for tools? Without some "analysis" one would not know whether to use a bigger hammer or a screwdriver or chain saw or a Q-tip??? Simply throwing more tools at a situation may only clutter things up. Olde trademan's saying: always use the proper tool for the job.

So, perhaps just a little oil is needed. Or a little less testosterone.

It could be looked on as being much the same thing and therefore dealt with in the same way.

I can't say that I've had experiences with "Energy Vampires", but I have had instances where people seem to be drawing Reiki energy from me without me consciously 'turning it on'. In these situations, I usually just open myself to the Reiki Pool and allow myself to be a clear channel for Reiki energy. If the person needs it and continues to take the energy, I still receive a healing for myself as I allow it to flow through me. This should usually combat the problem of someone 'sucking your energy', as opposed to accepting the Reiki flow. You should be left calm and energized, rather than tired and drained.

when I have to be around such negative people I always wear a peice of tigers eye. I find that this protects me fairly well. If I can I'll burn sage in the room I share with them or get some "Vibe be Gone" (sage and lavender) that can be blown into the air when they're not around. This normally works for me.

Bless you. I know that this is a tough situation but is it possible that you are resisting so much her negativity that you are actually causing your own headache?
Accepting someone where they are takes patience and lots of self love. Because her ways that your resisting will stimulate the areas within yourself that you have little self love and patience.
Try seeing if when you are around her you tense up. Is your whole body on alert?
Trying thinking of her like an ocean wave that is just flowing through you. Remember also that you are Nothing but Love and nothing unlike itself will penetrate the core of who you are.. When this rememberance you will be in more of a receptive state to receive what she is giving so you can transmute this negativity at its core.

It's so funny that you should mention that used the phrase
Energy Vampire to describe a supervisor. I teach 6th grade in a tough NYC middle school and I use that term to describe my students. I come home exhausted every day.

The only stress my supervisor is responsible for is tellings us all the the new mandates that we now have to follow which is creating a lot more paperwork. I'm frustrated at work because my students demand every ounce of my attention and give me back very little. They can't seem to follow simple directions.

I relate to your frustration, if not the cause of it. Either way.......it sucks!!!

Hope things get better for you at work. I think talking to yourself about what you can expect from her will help. This way you can kind of prepare yourself for it.

Having taught sixth grade as my first teaching job, I can certainly relate. I found my own children could drain me dry. We did not know how to conteract this in those days. The cleansing given by IPM I have found to be the best assistance.

There was a lady who turns out(surprise) to be a supervisor.
Everybody I talked to said that they felt drained when she was around. I only knew her for a little while but I sensed the drain myself.
One week I came in and the drain feeling was gone.. It turns out that she had gotten bio-energy done and it seemed to have worked!
I would suggest that you put up a reiki poster, in the staff room, but not your name, just a number, and if someone would call.... surprise!

You kind of "feel" energy moving from them to you. Reverse reiki. I tested it out twice. I know it worked because i tried it while recieving a reiki treatment. Afterward she said she noticed a big drain of energy or a tug on the energy flow or somehing like that t one point. The point I did this. What I want to know is, am I supposed to be able to do stuff like this??

Hi,

So, why did you do this "experiment"? And tell us about it? Did you really need the energy? Were you (are you) simply seeking some attention? Do people do this? Sure. And not always with the intention of doing so and in ways they might never imagine.

And, it is probably not reverse Reiki (or even likely remotely related to Reiki).

But, on the bright side, during Reiki it is the recipient who really affects the amount of energy that flows to him/her. If the practitioner you mentioned felt drained then most likley it was her personal energy that was being drained suggesting that she was not being very mindful of what was going on. An experienced and mindful practitioner would not allow what you did to happen to him\her.
