- just a reminder:

- Posts insulting others here at The Cafe are not tolerated and if I find posts that do so they are gone.

Hi Firekeeper

I personally thank you for keeping this site. It is a very good place to share. I enjoy the info, and thank you for a place to voice an oppionion which is all I can offer. I have read and practiced Reiki but will be the first to admit it will take the rest of my life and more to even begain to understand it. So if I put anything on here you disagree with, PLease remove it with my blessing..

tnt,

/*\ Namaste :-}}

- I can agree to disagree with anyone in a civil manner simply by stating my view (without slamming another's view)

- if someone takes a straight forward disagreement as an insult that is their hangup, not mine or anyone elses

>:-}}

- but there is no room for debate over Posts that directly insult another Cafe Member

- I am glad you find our little corner of virtual-land reasonably comfortable - and, if there was something else you really wished to say?? By all means do so (unless of course it is only fit for E-mail - in which case I accept E-mail, unlike some others)

Hi Firekeeper

Words mean so much, said in the wrong context they often offend, said in the correct context they can be so warming.

Words of kindness, cost nothing, but are so rewarding I agree "insults and slams" are not the way forward.

healinghorses,

/*\ Namaste :-}}

- yes, language is such a cool evolutionary development in humans yet also so limiting sometimes

- and, it is amazing how words are misconstrued simlpy because one of the communicants does not know the definition of the word or maybe only knows the tertiary useage of the word

- for example, envy and jealosy - many people use them interchangeably but they really have rather different definitions and implications

- so if someone says they 'envy' someone something I read this as quite different from being 'jealous' in the same context

- much the same when someone uses the term "paranoid": as a lay term it may be quite different (and loosely used) from the DSM IV definition of "paranoid" I use when applying that term

- but, some terms, regardless of the context of useage, simply do not belong here at The Cafe.

I'm only her for a very short time, and I really like the respect that everyone's opinions and questions are met with.
We are all here to learn from one another, after all.

The whole point of a Reiki discussion forum is to ask questions and learn from each other. So if constructive
criticism can help keep us from going down a wrong road, then we should be grateful to those who offer it.

Besides, we're all 'enlightened adults' here. We ought to be able to conduct ourselves in a mannerly fashion even when disagreeing with someone.

IMHO,
