Hello,

I have a question that I'm sure someone here will be able to help with.

On another forum one of the posters recently mentioned they could feel another person scanning them (without permission). This person is understandably upset and wants to do what can be done to make it stop. This person is very involved in energy work and is aware of proper protection techniques, yet reports that the unwanted scanning is "cutting through".

The question asked ultimately was "What can someone do beside protection to prevent anyone from scanning them or connecting to their higherself without their permission?"

Any thoughts?

Dear Featherpoint,
Make it clear that they are not wanted nor do they have permission to enter that space. ( We may unintentionally open ourselves up or develop a rapport that allows this intrusion, so it is essential to establish that this is not OK). Visualize a protective field seperating you from the intrusion. If the intrusion continues despite your efforts, visualize the cord that connects you & cut it with a sword or flame, etc.... Request help from those you consider your protectors ( God? Angels? etc) if needed.
Many people in different religous faiths gaze
upon the image of a spiritual person, protector or deity daily and repeat their name in mantra or prayer. Over time,when in need the name will escape the lips as easily as the breath. Feeling a connection to a protector is of benefit.
Salt water baths, meditation on love & compassion,sageing the room & self, etc.
Not sure if this is considered basic protection by your friend, so I may not be adding anything to what has already been attempted. :)

- careful mindfulness of one's own energy bodies is normally enough to keep out all but the most 'adept' intrusions

- which brings up the issue of why would someone be repeatedly scanning without permission? It is important to be sure active imagination is not at play.

- from a shamanic perspective, a power animal could be called upon to 'intercede'

- of course, not everyone has a power animal upon whom to call

- some mindful pranic work can be used to generate additional energy to repel intrusions

It's rather strange that the person being scanned reports it happening multiple times. Perhaps this person should meditate on the situation and find out if they get the same perception as in the waking state. There could be some activity in the way of help from the other side involved.

While we are on the subject of scanning without permission. How about sending healing energies to people without their permission? I remember being in a healing group years ago (before Reiki) where people would come in with lists of names for the group to work on. I seriously doubt all if not most knew what was going on because most of these people were out of the state or country. Many were seriously ill in hospitals. It's their relatives who would give the permission which is similar to them giving permission to operate or take other lifesaving measures. I don't think anybody can help another person unless they want it consciously and unconsciously.

If I'm scanned or energies are otherwise being sent to me, without my asking for 'em, it tends to be when someone's placed a cord in my field. If I get annoyed by it, then I build up a charge and send it back along the cord to the person who placed the cord. The cord is withdrawn pretty quickly after that.

Can you explain what you mean by building up a charge? What kind of charge? If it's Reiki, wouldn't that just give the person more reason to stay attached?

This is something that I'm sure will be very helpful to her. She is very comfortable meditating and receives many insights doing so.

For myself I always try to obtain permission first. However, on occassion I have sent without the persons express permission. I make it a case by case basis, and rely heavily on my intuition whether it is something I feel I should be doing at that time or not. I must say there have been times when my intuition says don't send, even though my head and heart are saying send. In those cases, I always respect my intuition.

I don't think it's so much a case of conscious/unconscious awareness, I do feel it is a matter of free will. One way that does help make that decision is to put our own selves into the position of receiving energy if we didn't request it. How would we feel then? Safe to say if we don't like the thought, then there's every chance the next person won't either.

It's not reiki. It's more like building up a static electrical charge and then discharging it back through the cord. The idea is to produce the sort of electric spark that occurs on a cold day when you touch a metal doorknob. Disattachment occurs quickly.

I recently had someone send me a jolt of negative stuff. There is a risk I could be confronted by a similar situation because we will be attending future group events. I have some recommendations on protection and sending the energies back to its origin, but I do like the feeling on this one. Thanks for sharing.
