Did Reiki Fail Me?

Hey all -

I have suffered from back problems my whole life, as early as 8 year old. When I discovered reiki 5 years ago, I realized that the issues of my dis-ease stem basically from root chakra issues.. worries of money, lack of family support, etc.

Since I've been attuned, when my back starts bothering me, I can normally discover the emotional issue stemming from it and self treatment keeps it in line.

Recently, my back started to bother me and I gave self treatments. However, they were ineffective in dealing with my pain.

Ultimately, I had to go to the Emergency Room and take 4 days of heavy pain killers to regain my health. This is my first ER trip in almost three years.

I am sad that I wasn't able to self heal myself. I'm also sad that I had to use such heavy drugs when there was no trauma to my back and ultimately this pain was once again based in emotional issues.

Good news is this, I was only on the meds for 4 days when I've been previously laid up for weeks. Also, my self treatment last night seemed to be very helpful.

What are your thoughts? Do you think that I'm expecting too much? Do you think that perhaps I just have a weak back?

I look forward to your voice and light!

Hi there judevine, namaste ....

"Did Reiki fail me?" you ask.

I would say no, since when we give ourselves or anyone else Reiki treatments, our minds should be clear of any specific expected outcome.

I`m sorry to hear that you had to go to ER, but pleased to learn that the meds were only necessary for four days.

Is there some learning within that for you in some way?

Hoping that the Reiki continues to help and support you at every level.

Love and light

Otoharo!

Reiki never fails itself. If it seems to fail you, your expectations are involved.

Root chakra issues that cause such pain as you describe are deep and extensive. You may be unable to handle all that reiki is bringing up. Keep up with clearingout this area. You may need the help of a knowledgeable counselor. One who is aware of ckakra issues. Even an old fashioned counselor can help with emotional issues that cause pain.

Keep up reiki, even when it seems too much. may as well do this now as later. pain is actually a brain message. Pain itself does not exist. Pain is not real, in other words. It seems real. It is actual. Tell your brain that you hear the message, no need to get severe. Begin to let all this be less dense. Reiki helps vastly with this part.

Namaste Judevine

In my experience I have found reiki has been more effective in emotional, spiritual issues than physical stuff. I can relate to your feeling of disappointment that I have felt when I had to take medications. But I have consoled myself saying without reiki it could have been worse.

Also, I have found that when I am sick, my own reiki has not been as powerful as when I am healthy, receiving reiki from others works better at that time. Be kind to yourself and just experience reiki without attachment to outcomes. Hope you feel better soon :)

Hello all!

I'm pleased to report that I'm in far better spirits then when I had my original post.

Many people responded to me privately via e-mail and gave me the much-needed reality check I was asking for.

Thank you for reminding me that reiki is not ego based. It does it's work for my greatest good, and not for my specific ailments.

Thank you for offering a variety of books, resources, and other solutions to my back problems.

And thank you for reminding me that this temporary bump in my path may have a larger meaning or lesson... or could have just been nature's way of telling me to take some time for myself.

Love in Light!
Jude
