...or so they say.

What's the most amazing healing experience you've had with Reiki?

Btw, has anyone used it as anti-ageing treatment?

Blessings,
Whatever

Dear Whatever,

Interesting post! I guess I've had sucess in physical healing, but that' not what impressed me the most. My interest lies more in spiritual and emotional healing.

A woman came to me while I was involved doing Spark in the Park, which is an organization I belong to. This was 2003, and the woman was really going through a lot of life difficulties. Out of a job since 911, discouraged with the political situation of the country, and other things in her life. It was all weighing her down at an emotional level.

One thing I've come to expect in Reiki, is that you never know what kind of reaction you may get. In this case, the woman started talking non-stop, and couldn't control it. Finally, she just let go of her problems. She was at peace.

That was my most impressive experience.

Best wishes,
Roxy

Otoharo!

I guess I can say that all I am doing with reiki right now is antiaging and it is working marvelously!

For a number of years I used it for bringing up and clearing out of emotional stuff. that worked beautifully also. Now I am pretty clear.

I agree with Roxyart. The sense of peace radiates from a client's soul when they are working with Reiki. It is beautiful to see the difference from the start to what is happening now.

Anti aging......belly laugh every day.

Have a great day

Just a question of clarification -- are you looking for experiences involving only reiki, or are you including other energy-healing methods in the question?

Yes, I meant Reiki. But if you had an extraordinary healing experience with another energy treatment, I 'd love to hear about it as well. :)

I agree, emotional healing is often more powerful to witness than physical.

That said, I have a really bad case of dysmenorhea(sp?). I have avoided going to the doctor for it cause they often treat it with pills. I don't want to take any. I want to heal the cause on the emotional level so I 'm free from the thought/feeling that created the condition. I have used Reiki on it on-and-off. Now I 'm thinking of starting on a regular course of self-healing and see what happens.

I 'm also interested in anti-ageing natural treatments. Why do people have to age? I never got a satisfying answer to that. So I was thinking of doing a little experiment with Reiki. I 'll be back in ten years to give you the results. ;-)

Blessings,
Whatever

P.S: Mal, what happens if one half of your face starts looking considerably different to the other half?!

I don't know what qualifies as "extraordinary," but summaries of some experiences follow.

My first attempt at distance healing came a few years before I learned about reiki. A friend who knew I did some qigong methods of healing asked me to work on him over the phone, after he'd been diagnosed w/ a partially detached retina for which laser surgery was scheduled. So I did. A few days later he called back to tell me that the final examination before the procedure showed that his retina had re-attached and they cancelled the laser surgery.

I later used qigong and reiki when my father was diagnosed w/ pancreatic cancer. (I also taught family members some qigong methods to use, and taught my father some exercises he could do for himself.) The energy work alleviated some of the side effects of chemotherapy. Dad passed away 26 months after he was diagnosed, but his oncologist thought he would survive for only about 6 months. We're grateful for the "extra" time that he had on this earth.

My mother and I worked for an hour on a friend who'd wrenched her back and was told by her doctor that she'd have to take ibuprofen forever for pain relief. But the ibuprofen upset her digestion, so she'd stopped taking it. After the session, she's been pain-free.

Using yin energy (water-based, and flows from the ground up) has helped friends who've had issues w/ auto-immune conditions. It's also helped to reduce (greatly) the rate and severity of hot flashes for another friend.

The mother of one of my students had a mini-stroke that left her too weak to walk. My student went over to work on her the next day, and I advised and worked on her long-distance. The day after that, she was up walking around without any problem.

An e-mail friend (who sometime earlier had been hostile toward reiki) asked for help for her brother-in-law, who was diagnosed w/ hepatitis C. I advised her on sending energy long-distance, which she did for 2 or 3 months. After that, the brother-in-law's liver tests have been clean.

This is pretty amazing, Bruce. :) I wonder whether it's the qigong/reiki or you have a natural gift on top of it. Sounds as if you do.

In my case, I seem to have better results with other people than myself. Could it be some kind of subconscious guilt that keeps me stuck? This dysmenorhea in particular has puzzled me greatly: While treating myself with Reiki once, I asked my subconscious to reveal to me the reason for my suffering. I instantly got a strange image. It seemed like a scene from a past life. As I was seeing it unfold in my mind's eye, I started crying. I felt a sort of catharsis taking place. But then, a couple of days later, I got the pain back. So I don't know...maybe only time sets us free? Like the soul is predestined perhaps to suffer for x amount of years before releasing a certain emotional/mental pattern?

Whatever

This dysmenorhea in particular has puzzled me greatly:

(I confess that I had to resort to a search engine to realize which condition you were discussing.) Have you tried ovarian breathing? Visualizing/feeling your breath, but as if your ovaries were your lungs. Just a suggestion that I think could be useful in conjunction w/ sending energy into the ovaries and uterus. Also, in Traditional Chinese Medicine, the energy of the kidneys controls the reproductive system, so energizing the kidneys might help too. (As usual, the preceding is not a substitute for medical examination and treatment, etc.)

So I don't know...maybe only time sets us free? Like the soul is predestined perhaps to suffer for x amount of years before releasing a certain emotional/mental pattern?

IMHO, time by itself doesn't do much.

Oh, and I forgot to reply to your question about anti-aging. I just started trying it out a bit on myself. Sending red energy into the pituitary gland and then letting that energy link up w/ the 2 lower dantian -- solar plexus and below-navel point -- seems to help. (Why red? I don't know.) According to qigong guidelines, though, energy levels shouldn't be built up in the brain; whatever energy is sent into the brain should also be brought back down before the end of the session. And kidneys store "original qi"; aging is regarded as involving a depletion of original qi; so again working on the kidney energy system might help. I haven't done anything extensive re. anti-aging, though.

Please do not go down that road. I did not give day to day details, but all healing is day to day. You can not clear out emotional stuff in one lump sum. If you did, it would kill you instantly. You have to heal gradually, the same stuff, day in and day out. You must treat yourself first of all. Then others.

Thanks, I 'll try ovarian breathing. :) I just think I may need to practise some more self-forgiveness as well. I do get the feeling it's karmic, both personal and ancestral(tho one may argue it's all personal otherwise why would I choose this particular ancestry?).

About time: with the right attitude, I believe it does set us free. Like instead of trying to heal every single condition, I believe one can choose to practise patience. I consider it one of the greatest spiritual lessons.

Yes, from the little I know about Traditional Chinese Medicine, the kidney connection must be pivotal.

Well, as I said, in ten years time, we should all come back and report. :)

Firekeeper, is this traditional Buddhist teachings you 're quoting?

I believe both in predestination and Free Will. To put it differently: I feel the only free will out there is how you use time. In that sense, I would agree with you: you may allow to delay learning your spiritual lessons for many lifetimes.

Finality, don't you believe in instant healing thru Divine Grace?

Afriend of the family had a stroke, before I had heard the news, I brokie down and wept in church, for personal reasons, but it seemed after a bit of concidence. Anyway, I sent her reiki, by distant method. She has to my knowledge has made a full recovery, thank God.
Years before I had heard of reiki, I think, a fella who used to bully me in school was diagnosed with cancer. It didn't help that years previously, when I was being bullied that I wished a classmate cancer, and maybe I meant him, logicaly it don't make sense. I prayed the rosary a lot for his healing and good health. He as far as I know has made a full recovery, with the help of God.

Hi Whatever,
I have had some amazing personal experiences with Energy Interference Patterning(EIP). One in particular springs to mind. I had left the marital home with my son when he was five and moved into a little place where we could start a new life. My son and I are normally very gentle people by nature but it got so that we were always shouting and screaming and getting very angry and upset. At first I put it down to the emotional turmoil we had been through but spoke to my friend who does EIP. I was really worried about my sons emotional and spiritual well being. I knew he was not being himself and it was very destructive. (I think this post may get a tad long, but try to stick with me, its worth it).
My friend and I decided to do an EIP for my son. It is a little different to Reiki in that we did not have to ask permission for the healing from the recipient because on a DNA level our healing (family members) affects each other. I became a surrogate for my son during the treatment. In that I mean that I meditated and came from his perspective. With this treatment the client regresses to the first time the problem appeared, either in this life or another. For my son it was this life when we were in our marital home and in his bedroom and he was about two. There was this dark presence curled up at the bottom of his bed, with hot breath and red eyes. It was with him all the time and we knew it was very evil and we needed to clear it from him. (When he was little he used to wake in the night with night terrors and we could never get through to him, I have never seen such fear in his eyes. Also, he was very ill one night and I took him into my bed. In the darkness the most horrible face appeard to me and said that my son was theirs and they were coming to take him. I was very scared and prayed a lot and protected him with the white light and it went away. (I had no knowledge of Reiki then).
Back to the treatment, my friend and I worked very hard with the angels and higher beings to clear this negative energy from my son and at one point I couldnt stop crying because I felt I couldnt beat it. Finally, with a lot of skill from my friend we eventually cleared it from him and I went home.
The amazing thing was that I walked in the door of our new home and it was like a different place. My son was back to his sweet self, the house was peaceful and calm and he had no idea where I had been so it cant have been auto suggestion or anything. I was so grateful and impressed. that I trained in it!
(A little post script - the old house that we left behind was bought by a family. A year later their son commited suicide in the very room where the evil presence showed itself to me. When I heard he had killed himself I knew exactly which room it was in, which was confirmed by a friend later).
Hope I didnt go on too long, its just mind blowing to me xxx

Hello. I'm new to the boards. I was working on a client in Colerado, she was about 83 and her legs were bent and locked. She was in a wheelchair and I helped her onto the table and worked on her. Her legs suddenly unlocked and her knees dropped about four inches. I don't know who got the biggest shock, her or me. Afterward she told me that was the first time her legs had moved for 20 years. She lived in abig community and they asked me to go and work there but I was going home the following week. There was a crowd round us and my heart was banging like a drum.
