Brian,
Hi and good evening. Elven is not my second language either. LOL. Nor third or fourth. LOL It is, more naturally, easier to try not to butcher (too badly) the version of 'English' we promote on this side of the Pond.
:)
Cheers,
RC

Brian,
Buenos dias!
:)
Many years ago I went to hear a speaker at one of the local universities, a psychology professor speaking on schizophrenia, who was a transplant from Scotland. Loved the brogue but couldn't read my notes.
LOL, LOL
Perhaps one day I will have the honor to set foot upon the peat and walk the moors (and afterwards some drams to warm the innards). And, I would be most certain to bring my good birding glasses (and night-vision binocs) with which to spot for haggises.
LOL
Cheers,
RC

RC,
Good morning and happy Easter.
On the subject of note-taking, when I worked at my degree(in my late forties), my inability to transcribe my own notes caused frequent embarrassment and much head scratching.
Rofl.
I think you would enjoy Scotland. My favourite is the West Coast, from around Oban northwards. The scenery, light and smells are quite unmatchable.
Bean mo chroi and I will be going to Skye at the end of May for a week for the recharging of batteries and souls. I will remember my absent friends and raise a glass to them in the Eilann Iarmainn hotel.
I would extend the same welcome to you as I have to Mr.F/K. In the event that you manage to make the journey across the Pond, my home will be your home. (Not quite the North West Scottish coast, but a bonny spot nonetheless)
Slan go foille agus beannacht leat.
