Can you please give me some tips on how to control my thoughts? More specifically, why do I have trouble believing in myself when it comes the things that make me happiest? Why am I afraid that what makes me happiest won't come true? Any tips/ideas will be appreciated.
Thanks :-)

Hi,
Maybe some positive affirmations would help you to manifest positive thinking. Acknowledge any negative thoughts that challenge your beliefs but don't hold onto them, merely acknowledge them and then let them go. If they won't go then distact your mind.It might take a few goes, but it will begin to work. Thoughts can become habitual if we allow them to and cause anxiety, it is just a matter of retraining our brain :)
Gentle Blessings

highestpurpose,
Hi,
I am not sure what you mean when you say "Why am I afraid that what makes me happiest won't come true? " but this sounds as if you may be spendng a lot of time in wishful thinking. Perhaps you can clarify a bit?
Cheers,
RC

Otoharo!
I am trying to recall how I did it. The thing for me was sorting out what flak I was getting from ego from what my true feelings and thoughts were. And are. Anytime I was flagilating myself, it was ego doing, not me. All woe is me was ego. All put downs was ego. etc.
When you sort through this, you truly begin to see what is you. really you.

One way would be to pay attention to all you thoughts, regardless of worth, writing them down, see whats recurring, and then editing them. Like ay for example, you could say to your thought, I acknowledge you, thank you for your attention, but you can go away now, you've served your purpose, and I'm grateful for the experince. Thouthts are there to remind us of things. Don't try to control them, or you'll just strangle yourself in a neverending struggle. Calm down, they are there for a reason. Relax.
Take a deep breath, and let it go...
Easy for me to say.
I tie myself in knots every day.

Thank you for all the tips and ideas, I’ll surely make use of them.
RC: When something goes really well in my life (relationships, job situations, anything really positive and happy), I get scared that it will go away, and IT DOES. Same goes for planning and creating my future, I envision myself in happy situations, whatever they may be, but the happier I imagine my future, it gets “stamped” with the fear stamp, and then the opposite of happy happens or the happy situation doesn’t.
Basically, I have such clarity lately (probably as a result of daily reiki and clearing work) and along with this clarity, comes the power to manifest your thoughts. This “power”, in the form of thoughts, is what I have trouble “controlling”, that is, no matter what I wish for, good or bad, materializes extremely fast, in a matter of weeks. The problems start when I can’t control the fear and negative thoughts and then those happen as well.
Another question: should I question the root of the negative thought and try to clear any baggage behind it or should I just try to put the negative/fear thought aside?
Thank you!!
Much love and joy :-)

Dear Highestpurpose,
Sounds like a case of anxiety to me. I really like the suggestion of writing the fears down, and dismissing them. I have found that just writing them down can help a lot.
Anxiety is an old *ahem* friend to me. And yes, it's true, it can be a great blocker. As for getting to the root? You know, I know where it comes from in me, but that didn't help that much. I found something called "cognitive therapy" to be a lot more useful.
Best wishes,
Roxy

Hi Roxy,
I second that. Cognitive behavioural therapy is fantastic for dealing with anxiety related disorders :)

highestpurpose,
Hi,
When we recognize the source of our 'fears' (our Shadow) then we can decide if we wish to challenge them and how we might wish to go about doing this. This process is also one of 'thought'. Resolving Karma is clearing olde baggage. But, remember that the 'negative' thoughts and emotions you continue to generate along the way will need to be dealt with, Karmiucally, later on (which may be during the your next incarnation). Compassionate living also includes not harming oneself. Mindfulness meditation training and practice might be helpful.
:)
Cheers,
RC

Thank you all for sharing your thoughts.
It is possible that at the time I wrote the message, I was anxious, but it is not something that I experience often.
I am familiar with cognitive therapy and reiki has done for me much, much more than any other method of healing.
I will use the tools that you presented me with and see what works best for me. Thanks again!
love and light :-)
