strange!

Hi guys, just finished a reiki session ,the third this lady has had, and it was very strange. Before I explain, let me say that my protection was on and was complete. As I worked on her I became very light headed, almost as if I would faint, if I took my hands off the feeling went.As I continuted the session the feeling continued, and became unpleasantly strong, as i held her feet i was aware of a strong light behund my eyes, which were shut. When I opened them she was glowing! No other way to describe it, just as one visualises the golden light flooding somone.....well she was! It was tremendous. When she came to she had been aware of it as well, the glow not the dizziness......This is a new one for me, I've been working for some years but never had anything like tis before. Any ideas???

Otoharo!

I can relate to these sensations. Why is it necessary to explain. It happened.

Hey There,
The dizziness sounds like your vibrations were raised very high, if temporarily, to match what was going on with your client. Your client was very lucky to have had a practitioner that was such a clear channel for the reiki energy. Say Thank you to the universe and move on. Don't let ego step in on this one.

Keep up the great mindfulness!

Thanks! The only reason I queried it was because it was so bizzare!I thought perhaps something had gone wrong! Thanks for the reassurance.

Dear Annie,

Finality and Dakota have responded to this beautifully! So often we feel the need to question and put things into some rational context so that our ego can be fed. Some things simply "are" and no explanation is needed (in fact, to put it into words that truly convey the meaning is woefully inadequate at best). Better, in my opinion, to simply experience what happened and allow yourself to really live in that experience...for that moment, for that "now". This experience will lead to the next and then to the next, as the time is right for you to build on what you have learned. To jump from "oh, this happened" to "what does it mean?" and, inevitably to "what will happen next?" rushes the process and bears no fruit.

Your experience was lovely and I thank you for sharing it. I'm with Dakota...thank the universe for the blessing. (Just for today show gratitude...)

All blessings to you,
Lesley

Thank you Lesley. This really wasn't an ego thing...quite the reverse! I was concerned for the recipient. it was amazing, I was truly blown away, and I continue to thank the universe for all the blessing I receive. My lesson I have to learn is to be take it slow be patient, my personality is such that I want it all not even now but yesterday! So this is just the next step along my learning curve maybe.....thanks for helping me realise it!

Dear Annie47,
It is quite natural to seek an explanation behind an extraordinary event. Appreciating it & letting go of the need to know what and why can open doors. My inclination to explore cause and effect kicks in often so I can relate to your enthusiasm! With Reiki however, have come to realize that my explanation & conclusions may say more about me than the event. When I started letting go of the need to reach a conclusion & just accept what happens during Reiki it freed me. However, if we never ask questions we could miss an opportunity for the light bulb to pop on! Kind of a balancing or juggling act, eh? :)
My feeling is that you were picking up what was going on with the client ( Reiki or not) and the strength of it made you dizzy. In other words, it may not have been improper grounding, etc. but simply that what the client was experiencing, you were, on some level, "open" to.

peace & joy,
holobon

Dear Annie,

I just realized that my post to you contained something that frustrated me to no end when I used to read it...the word "ego" and what it means. I think different people use it in different ways (at different times, even).

Ego can refer to that part of us that thinks we're the greatest (or the least). That part of us that says, "Look what I did. I'm amazing." And then the ego trip follows.

What I was referring to was the ego that wants us to believe that we ARE this body we live in, not the spirit nature that we really are. This ego perpetuates that belief at every opportunity...and we give it plenty of those :) This ego has a hard time when we come to the place when we realize that we are all one, that we are all connected. It wants us to believe we are separate, autonomous.

An experience such as the one you had shows the infinite possiblity of living in the reality that we are all connected...and the ego can kick up a fuss over that one. Your concern for your client, your enthusiasm, and your questions are all so natural. What you learn from this will be what you can absorb in this moment.

I doesn't matter that it happened, just that it happened. What fun! All of the above goes but personally speaking, Cool. Something similar happened when I got an attunement and we were practicing after, I sneaked a peek at the others just to see if I was doing the same things as they were, and I saw a silver glow at one ladies(reciever)feet. and a golden one at anothers(giver). I appreciated the gift.
If I were you i'd visulise that glow and let it flow with love. Just for the sake of it just for the fun, just for the love.
Blessings

I'm with you Annie,
How can you understand what it is happening if you just "get on with it". Sorry, but I like to see where I am going and what it happening. Blindfolds make me nervous.
Congratulations on such an exciting session.
