i heard its not smart to give reiki free to paople becaause you can cause unbalance to your own chakras wich actually must also mean you can become ill yourself?

that is one I have not heard. the real reason for not giving free reiki is this. Giving and receiving are two sides of the same coin. In order to receive, we must give, in order to give we must receive. It is healthful to keep these equations balanced at all times. I pay for all the courses I have ever had. Thousands of dollars and each one was well worth every penny. I know the benefits for my client when I ask a fee for service.

But it isn't gods time that us being used, it is ours.
Locally we have a very good and well respected Spiritual healer. She never used to take anything for her services, but found that people do want to recompense her for the time spent and benifits they have recieved. She found that all of the time she was not recieving anything from them, then she only saw most of them once. When she started to take money for her services she started to get more people coming to her.
People do want to be holding to someone else and if they don't give something, then they feel awkward about asking next time.

What do you think about priests and ministers getting paid for the work that they do? (My own view is that if they want to do it for free, that's great, but if they want to negotiate payment, then that's okay too.)

Some would say it is not god's either. But, I am not sure whether you refer to giving attunements for free or simply doing Reiki for free (as many do here with distance Reiki requests) when asked or when an offer to do Reiki is accepted.

I agree with you that to give Reiki freely, without thought of reward is extremely compassonate action and good Karma. If the person wants to reciprocate, and maybe they do, that's fine.

But as for giving away free Reiki doing damage? It's simply not true. I've given away plenty of Reiki, and only ended up with feelings of peace and bliss.

What you say here is exactly what my soul mate said in the begining of our relationship. She refused to accept my fee. However, Xaris intervened, pointing out to my soul mate that she was providing a true service, worth payment for her time and the clarity which she brings to it. I kept insisting. Finally she accepted saying she would give it to charity. Xaris intervened again insisting that she accept the fee as given. Finally she was able to do so even then under protest.

Today, it is a given. I pay at the first of each month for however many weeks. It is the best investment I have ever made or will ever make.

Today, she shared with me that she had been reiki with my energy for an hour and a half before it cleared. And as it cleared she knew I was now unblocked in regards to my music. Earlier I had left a message on her machine that I had had a break through with my music!

How all this fits together! That healing is worth millions to me.

Usui found that after giving reiki for free people would return to their illnesses faster than if they gave something in return. Usui began accepting things in a barter fashion then and found more people maintained their level of healing.

A person receiving must give some value to their own health or it is worth nothing.

I often tell people to bring whatever they feel is "right" for them. I have received some lovely crystals, flowers, t-shirts and sometimes just a hug is wonderful!

its not strange i raise these questions more then others ebcausei have GAD i have extreme anxiety so anxious about every small thing...

but i feel guilty to get paied for an energy ( YEAH IF I HAVE IT THAT IS , IF I GOT RIGHT ATUNEMENT :s) that is not mine even if its my time..

i like the idea of lettign people choose if they can pay back or not :)

RoxyArt : I haven´t found a Roxy Bayliss yet, but my middle name is Lana, so i was suprised to see a Roxalana on here! .....

Nekomon: as for the anxiety Nekomon, I have OCD, so anxiety is present in most things i do... at first, i was anxious about doing certain things with Reiki, thinking, maybe this could bring me to harm... etc etc... but at the end of the day - Reiki works for our greatest good, so whatever way you choose to work will be the right way for you! Have faith and confidence in the Reiki and maybe your anxiety will decrease as mine is doing slowly but surely.
