Preventing Kundalini rising

Namaste All,

Are there any guidelines for preventing kundalini rising?

I always try not to give too much Reiki at the base of the spine, just in case and plenty at the crown chakra, but I wondered if there were any other preventative measures to take?

Also, how would you know if the Kundalini had been released?

Many Thanks
Love and Light
Helen.

Rainbow,

Namaste.

There are disciplines for allowing the Kundalini to rise - but these truely require a Teacher - for most.

I do not know of specfics to "prevent" Kundalini from being aroused - other than not doing the prescribed exercise. :-}}

Kundalini, theoreticaly, may jump up at any time. Its effects, especially if it leaves its normal channel can be quite extreme - even nasty.

I have been communicating and working with somone who went thru an episode of what was likely unexpectedly disturbed Kundalini.

The person who has the experience may have huge heat flashes up and down the spine or parts. If the energy leaves this channel it may manifest anywhere as heat, or perceived as lots of colored energy, etc.

To calm Kundalini, I recommend Reiki simultaneously at the soles of the feet (hands-on) and Reiki at the sacrum (hands-off).

Do not Reiki the crown. Kundalini rises toward the crown when properly coaxed and one does not want to send energy down through the crown which would act as a "blockage".

Hope this helps.

reiki all around.

All Blessings,

Firekeeper

Many thanks Firekeeper,

I hope that I will never have the need to deal with it, as it sounds quite frightening!, but thanks for the good advice.

Hi Rainbow, Reiki blessings,

Fortunately, I have never, to my knowledge, come across a problem with the kunalini. But if I have to work specifically with any of the chakras (as opposed to adding chakra healing to the general healing) I work with one hand at the top of the spine at the same time as placing the other at the base of the spine, always for a VERY short period, then I reverse the positions so that the polarity is reversed. I learned this during a 2 year course of spiritual healing, but find it works well in a reiki healing too, if required. L&L jonjo

Hello Jonjo,

Namaste,

I too, have just started using this position, since reading about it in a book on Reiki. It just felt 'right'
to use this... again only for a short while, although I have never reversed the positions....I will try this next time I treat.

Many Thanks

Helen,
A while back I had a kundalini experiance. It was really hard core. I had some friends around me but nobody really knew what was going on and the only thing I could do was roll around on the floor making various sounds. The energy was running through me an a really intense rate which seemed to last forever. After it slowed I tried to channel the energy somewhere else. Anywhere else. It was too intense, but nothing seemed to work. Finally after a while I stumbled out of the house where I was, I started toning into the earth and crying sending my tears into the earth to help her heal herself. What I realized later was that the earth was trying to clear me with her energy and I was sending it back to her. As far as I know. Kundalini comes when it is needed and the only thing you can actually do for a person having one is to make them as comfortable as possible and remind them that they are safe and everything is ok and to let the energy flow as is nees to and not to block the flow. It is nothing to be afraid of, it is a gift. But it is good to recognize it when it comes so you can remain calm for that person.
Hope that helps,
Joanna

Hello Joanna,
Thank you for sharing this experience with me, I have read of it happening, but never directly from someone that it has actually happened to.

Can I ask, do you know what triggered it to be released...were you and your friends healing at the time?

Many Thanks

Helen.

Helen,
We had just gotten back from an all night party. I was with a person for hours taking care of him because he had over exerted himself by not drinking enough water and dancing alot and taking drugs. When we ( a group of 7 or so people) got back to my friends house I finally got him to sleep. The sun was up and I realized I hadn't done my sun salutations yet. I went outside and greated the sun and the directions ,the earth, the moon and creator. This day I asked to be aligned with the will of creator. "Please align me with your will Creator". This day I felt extra filled with love and sent it out in full force. When I came in the house I had a funny feeling in my belly. I told my friend about it. I said it felt like there was too much energy there. I desided I should move it up. I felt the energy and with my hands and my will I moved the energy through my chakras. Well, the energy didn't stop. It kept going and going. I allowed it to flow and it did. From my rememberance I had gotten a few healings about my energy being stuck at my 3rd chakra but I was afraid to release it. I am thinking this is the reason why. Sometimes we aren't afraid we are week, but that we are powerful beyond measure, and that it one example. It hasn't happend to me again because I am very careful about what I do to move energy. I have been pretty mellow. I have however talked to other women and I have heard that there are lots of women having these experiences latly. Perhaps it is a mass awakening of the feminine power, I am not sure. The only other times I have a similar feeling is when I am toning, the energy seems to flow through me from the earth mother herself. I believe if we prepare and allow ourselves to be channels for the energy the energy will flow through us.
Much love to you,
Joanna

Hello Joanna,

Namaste,

Thank you for telling me more about your experience.

I have to admit, that I still find it all a bit scary. I spent a couple of hours last night, reading up on he internet, about kundalini and it seems that people have had some horrendous experiences, when it has awakened unexpectedly. From what I have read, as our spiritual awareness grows, so our kundalini begins to stir and there is nothing to do to stop it. It seems that certain meditation techniques focus on trying to release the kundalini, but after everything that I have read, I would never deliberately try to rouse the serpant!

The thing that worries me abit, is that Reiki can inadvertantly trigger it to release. Recently, while doing Reiki, I have experienced strange sensations around my throat and crown chakra, almost as if something is tickling me or crawling over me. It is not unpleasant, but at times it is so intense that it makes me want to brush it away. From what I have read, these kind of sensations at the crown chakra can be signs that the kundalini is stirring...hence ny original question : ).

If anyone else has any positive experiences of kundalini, I would love to hear them :)

Love and Light
Helen.

Good morning, all,

I think that there is some unfounded fear going on here. The Kundalini is under your control, not something that just happens to a person. If you are having problems, then it is certainly time in your life for change. That time for change being ignored, is what the Kundalini is marking. If you honor that time when you are changing, it is a gentle process, and filled with joy! SMILE, this is the step you chose in the process of being a spiritual person! FEAR is holding you back! One of the objects of Reiki is coming to the place in spirituality where you do not know fear personally. Let it go, and when the Kundalini stirs, welcome it...be excited for yourself! This is not a problem to get thru, but a joyful process to remember....

Rainbow,

I was told, when I first began my healing training, that the feathery feelings across my face were my guides making me aware of their preasance. Although, at first, I found it a very strange idea, I came to find it very comforting, so I hope this will help to remove your feelings of fear and to ask 'who is there?':0)))))LOL. when you feel that sensation again.

Hi Jonjo,
Namaste,
I had wondered about this, as I have been asking my Guides and Angels to make themselves known to me. Also the other day, when sending distant healing, I felt the sensation strongly around my throat...I have an underactive thyroid and it felt like there was some healing going on, whilst my hands were firmly on my distance list : ).

Thanks for the comforting thought, Jonjo, much appreciated,.

Helen.

Rainbow,

Just about a year ago a long-time friend, who has not been into reiki, or much of anything, actually, requested that I do some reiki on her. Of course I was delighted! At the beginning of the session, I got a vision of Raphael wraping his arms around her and giving her a hug! Almost immediately she complained about not being able to breath! I had to chuckle a bit and requested Raphael to loosen up the hug for her.....and right away she took a deep breath and laughed as well. Not altogether frightening! They show themselves in different and loving ways. I have always felt that the odd brushings against the skin were a 'hello'. Namaste, Priestess

Priestess,

Namaste.

A Kundalini Yoga Teacher with whom I expect to begin study has said that the proper discipline and training will allow one to bring up the Kundalini "uneventfully".

The Teacher did say that Kundalini is not under our control as such unless one were an extremely gifted energy medium already and that unexpected arousals do occur - though not frequently - and are not to be taken lightly.

Hope this helps.

I expect the training to be most interesting and a nice expansion on Hatha Yoga I have done.

I love the idea of being hugged by my angels and guides. Perhaps they tickle my face to let me know I am going to get a hug, as quite often my arms have also had that feathery sensation. Thanks. (((((((reiki hugs))))))) jonjo

Just one more question............................

So what is going on, or how does one feel when the Kundalini does rise 'uneventfully'? Does anyone here know?? Is it a glorious, or peaceful time? Or?

Priestess,

Namaste.

I know what people have reported. Some say that it is quite wonderful - but these have been people studying a Kundalini discipline.

I can relate some of my own experiences which 'might' have been Kundalini.

Perhaps after I have been studying Kundalini Yoga for a while (I hope to begin this week) I will have something more to report.

That is why I asked. I have had a couple of experiences that I considered to be "euphoric", or "rapture", but not being well-versed in Kundalini, except for what I read, don't know the difference...... Let us know.....Love and Light, Priestess

Priestess,

Namaste.

Most of the 'unexpected' Kundalini attributed events reported to me have not been pleasant.

My own experiences have encompassed both 'rapturous' and the unpleasant. Whether they wer Kundalini as yet remains a bit of a mystery.

I am hopeful I will be able to find the class schedule compatible with my own or my own schedule flexible enough to begin the study and practices.
