Hello all,

I am about to receive my second attunement. I have been reading Diane Stein's Essential Reiki to help me prepare. In Essential Reiki, Stein talks about how the second attunement really opens you up to a lot more of the universal energy, and how it is a marker in the practitioner's spiritual development as this is when many practitioner's start seeing/developing relationships with their spirit guides, etc. For those of you who have had 2nd and 3rd attunements, what is your experience with this aspect of the attunement? Also has anyone started seeing auras after their attunements?

- there are no formuals for how that goes

- the degree of connection to the flow of energy one brings into Reiki training, practice, and attunement has influence

- as for auras, some are already seeing auras before Reiki and some may never see auras Reiki or no Reiki (this also holds for 'meeting' so-called guides)

- as far as I am concerned the single best way to deveolp one's connection to the flow of energy is thru hands-on practices with others

I had my second attunement in May and it just opened up a whole new world for me yet again. nothing has changed suddenly but i do feel like i have been through and am still going through an emotional detox. i would guess that each and every one of our experiences will be different. I have not yet developed any relationship with spirit guides but i do feel guided by the universe and feel a strong connection with the universe.

i am starting to see the aura bit by bit.

My most profound experience of Reiki 2... is that you are your own text book... i dont know how to explain this as yet.

Dear Nicole,

The actual attunment did nothing for me, except open me up to energy. A lot of exercises I did with the Reiki energy at Level II did wonders for my emotional state. I was studying Gendai Reiki at the time.

As for what Firekeeper said, hands on work is really one of the best ways to open to the energy.

And yes, the experience is different for everyone.

Hi,

I was attuned in 2nd level 6months ago, and I did not feel anything special. It was after work and meditation that I felt "other"type of energy:the sensitive one. Still I cannot "see" my guides but I do feel them. Auras can be seen without reiki, you only need to practice your peripherical sight. With time and practice, first you will be able to see a bright contour and after colour.

Is it typical to start receiving guidance from a spirit guide after the second attunement? Or is it, as so much in Reiki is, a matter of personal experience?
Before I even knew what Reiki was I was compelled to do "hands on" energy work on my husband, who suffered from numerous lumbar disk issues. (since resolved quite nicely, by the way, and if anyone wants details, please email me.) When I did this I had clear visions of an ancient woman and she would speak to me in a language I didn't understand, but I sensed she was telling me what to do. She is still very strong for me--she sometimes dances and tends a fire. I never knew what to make of it until I started hearing about "spirit guides", and the light came on. Same thing with auras, energy fields/lines, colors and all that.
I'm ready for my second attunement and I look forward to what comes next! This is already so cool!!
