blackearth,

- what is the nature of the request? What does the resident expect? His or her intentions can be quite crucial

- disorders in the auto-immune spectrum may be a bit tricky

- there are those who feel that it is important to do what one can to minimize stimulation of the person's immune system (which is already attacking the body)

- depending on the issues this resident brings to the session and his\her expectations, this might be one of those rarer cases where I might start with an 'off-the-body' session and see where that leads

- or, if doing hands-on, try to steer clear of the area of the Thymmus and the base of the skull

I have worked with this resident off and on for 3 years. Never actually done a "treatment". She has asked me to massage her legs and arms with peppermint oil and do "that thing you do". Seemed to help her pain and fear. I have not worked that end of the building in months. Not really sure what is going on with her at this time. We will talk about expectations.

Doing an actual treatment concernded me because of the reasons you have stated. I am grateful for the info of where not to do. That helps me alot. I do thank you

- since it sounds as if she distinguishes between the massage and 'other stuff', what exactly does she think "that thing you do" might be?

- glad I could be of some help

She knows it is Reiki. Just chooses to call it that.

Otoharo!

We had a friend who had ms. She always felt better after reiki. She changed from me to another practitioner and eventually healed ms completely. then she got cancer and died. Her communication after death is that she meant to die in the first place. She just could not hack ego.

Blackearth,

Namaste...

I work on someone regularly who has MS. She finds it very calming and helpful. Stress can trigger a lot of the aches and pains that she suffers from so the reiki seems to help her cope better.

She does tend to draw most energy at the brain which correlates with the condition (as Firekeeper mentions...Hi Firekeeper :-) and the heart chakra as well. Her ki feels very "dull" in her legs so I spend a good bit of time there as well. It's usually a fairly long session...which she is happy to endure. LOL :-)

Of course, everyone is different.

I find that being a good listener to both the recipient and to my instinct with a compassionate heart will lead to a beneficial experience.

I'm sure you will handle it well.

Hope this is helpful....

:-)

Mammabear

Firekeeper,

Namaste...

We are all well, thank you very much.

The anticipation of the new school year for the cubs has things a bit "unsettled", LOL but that is to be expected.

:-)

We were blessed with some rain the last two days after weeks without. Have you managed any down your way? You were needing rain so much more than we...

Hope all is well with you and yours as well.

Mammabear

- I am glad all is well there - most are already back to school here

- we are quite well, thanks, but with the exception of one 8-hour period of good rain about two weeks ago, still very dry, overall

- some voluntary water conservation re watering lawns and washing cars has helped also

- take care,

Hello Blackearth *hugs**
I've been noticing alot of issues with folks concerning the intake of gluten. Do you ever energy test for imbalances due to allergies? If so, check on gluten. With all the hybriding of foods were ingesting, allergic reactions are waaay up and its affecting folks in many unusual ways.

Bright blessings Sis and hope things are going well with you.

Much love and affection always,
Jahnavi

Yes I do test for allergies. Some where in this house I have a copy of research that was done on GMO corn. The jist of it was that caterpillars that ate the corn died. Makes me wonder how much of the increase in allergies to gluten is really a reaction to the genetic engineering done to the grain.

For 30 years I grew everything my family ate. Even ground my own flour. Now that I am unable to do that, the food I eat taste like poison. Nothing taste like it should. Nor have I felt well. Lately I have taken to eating wild foodstuff. Beginning to feel well again.
