Hello Friends,

What is the significance of the color one sees underneath the eyelids? I had one client while I was volunteering say that he saw a brilliant blue while I was working on him. Another client said he had gone to a Reiki practioner who actually had a way of working with whatever color the client saw.

The only thing I can think of is that the colors are somehow related to the corresponding chakras...but I don't exactly know how. Does anyone have any information on this?

I have had the experience of seeing the same color my teacher was visualizing during an attunement. In that way, it was simply validation of Oneness.

Students sometimes report seeing colors while I am attuning them. On occasion, a client will see colors during a session, most often if it's their first session, that's when it's most dramatic.

Sometimes I will see colors when receiving Reiki, as well. Depends on my state and the practitioner's approach.

I always tell my students, don't feel left out if you don't see colors; everyone experiences ULE in their own way and with their strongest perceptions. My most reliable indicator of Reiki happening, is a certain high-pitched ringing tone.

When colors do happen, I just take it as validation that healing movement is positively affecting all involved.

As far as chakras goes, I learned the rainbow scheme, red at the root, up to violet/white at the crown. If a client or student is aware of that, we can speculate the colors may indicate attention to be paid to the corresponding chakra.

But I also expect that meanings of colors are highly influenced by culture and context. At the least, those vivid color perceptions validate for clients and students that something out of the ordinary is going on, and they have always had a positive feeling about them.

I pay attention to the color I "sense", either vibrationally or seeing the color myself - no matter what chakra center I'm working with. Just last week, I was giving a Reiki session in the neck area and sensed the color red in that area, which, of course is not the color for the neck area. I'm still not sure how to interpret that, but I just trust the Reiki energy and divine spirit to do what's needed, and in the meantime remind myself that I'm a student of the practice and the Universe. SOmetimes it's important to understand the meaning of the colors we see or sense, and sometimes it's not important to have the understanding. I work under the assumption that if it's important for me to have the understanding, I will receive it.

In other energy healing practices I learned that usually red/root chakra interacts with green/heart; orange/sacral interacts with blue/throat; yellow/solar plexus interacts with purple/third eye. Not a rule, I'm sure, but these are also "complimentary" colors to one another on the "color scale", and I think there is definitely significance in the chakras as well.

If a client reports seeing certain colors, to me it implies that there is work happening in those particular energy centers - BUT - it could also mean that these are strong energy centers in that person. There's just really no "set rules" to energy work!!

For myself, because I have a tendency to analyze every thing, I'm learning to trust the flow of Reiki, instead of attempting to analyze my perceptions. However, at the same time, we ARE students, and part of our own training is to learn to hone our perceptions!!

Sorry to sound so vague - but that's how I see it - for me, anyway!!

Roxy, I see colors readily. I am of the opinion that there is no standard for what they mean. When what I see is dark it tells me there is need for reiki. When I am reading, my hands shine a color onto the book which may indicate where I am within muself or may tell me how what I am reading feels to me. A golden color does not seem to relate to chakras. At least not the ones inside the body. When I used to work and transported children, I often saw colors around their heads that seemed to relate to their feelings at the moment. These colors shifted seeming to correspond to how the child was responding to their experience. Reiki comes into my vision as a ball of light and circles towards the right and up. I have told of this many times. Sometimes before I see the color, the ball, I sense a movement, then realize it is the beginning of this inflow and cycle. I was sharing this experience once when in a group which incuded Xaris. She got up and brought in a magazine cover that had this diagram on it. The magazine was from a person whose name is Barbara ........ She inherited the movement her father began. (I will supply the name when it comes to me!)

When receiving Reiki from a particular master I would see bright neon rainbows, or prisms on a black background---very pretty!
Others, I might see gentle turquoise or lavenders, and sometimes geometric shapes like triangles and spirals.
Meaning? I dunno. Makes the experience nice, though.
