Communication

Otoharo!

What is communicaion? in my opinion communication is the tool one person uses to express ideas, feelings, knowings to another person. When we can do this orally, through sound, we can get the feelings across, the knowings, even. But when we have to revert to reading words, then we have to use the intellect as a tool, and the intellect is not as good a path as sound. It is more remote, so the communication has to overcome more resistance.

I notice this particularly here, on this board. How wonderful it would be if we could talk to each other as economically as we can read each other. And even talking cannot carry the full essence of our meanings. our feelings. The whole experience of sex is an example of how we can communicate our feelings through our body that we can not communicate through words.

All of these awarenesses are fresh to me today because I have just finished reading The Dancing Wu Li Masters. It was published in 79 and I am just now reading it. It demonstrates that physics scientists' experiments prove that we create our own reality and how we do this. That we are not separate from each other or from nature in anyway. That nature is not separate from observers of it. Whew! What a book! I wonder how it could have existed and it has taken me so long to connect to it! Twenty seven years ago I would not have grasped its message as graphically as I do today!

When I was first confronted with the idea of creating my own reality, my head was putting up all these defences, not especially as defences so much as not being able to comprehend the mechanism that makes this so. Today I can comprehend that.

Dear Finality,

Yes, communication through mere words is very limited. We lose the nuances in tone of voice, gestures and the accompanying feeling of the energy of the person. Communication is very complex.

I would like to add one form of communication that is also relevant to humans...the arts. You must know from your own experience, that there are things you can communicate through your music that you would not be able to get across in any other way.

Love,
Roxy

aum
Wow! Thanks for expressing such a brilliant insight with us. I've always had this nagging feeling that writing lacks something, I just couldn't articulate what. You did that wonderfully.

*hugs*

So right on! I was nodding my head the whole while I read your post. My daughter and one sister are artists also, I have dabbled in it. And yes, music is my forte'.
