This is a frequent topic for me. You may be tired of hearing it, but from what I read today, perhaps it is a point to consider again. Reiki is not something one does. One of the first messages I read the first time I came on this board, years ago, was that statement. It was very puzzling to me then. It took me years to discover how to just be. We grow up doing things. We are so steeped in doingness it is, for most of us, a strange thing to consider other than doing.

In the group here I I learned in, we went through a process. It was several years in happening. First I learned the difference between emotions and feelings, and eventually could be in my feelings. Then we progressed to discovering (notice this word) knowing. Finding our knowing. As aid to this process we went through leaving the head and living in the area of the heart chakra (not it specifically, I think there is a center behind the heart). Once we can be in knowings everything we were learning became easier. We discovered that mind is in every cell of the body. Thus hands know reiki and can operate without our thinking in the head. My body began telling me things while being reiki with a client. Finally through all these processes, it began to dawn on me, being! I am being! Then from this, I was being reiki.

Everything else is an opportunity for ego.

The point of doing Reiki is learning to be Reiki.
