Hi people.....

I think there are as many different ways to meditate as there are people...there is not one set of rules written in stone for all eternity..

I've been meditating for a few years....and before i found what worked best for me, I tried alsorts of stuff!ahahaha..but we won't go there....*grimace*

what i felt most comfortable with was a chakra rainbow meditation...........where i breathe in colour ....I have quite good visualising skills, so rather than 'clearing the mind'... (which incidently I believe is impossible)... I find it easier to focus the mind with very clear visualations... but because I'm breathing in colour to the corrresponding chakras....the whole meditation process for me becomes a full body experience...

with regards to meditating on the symbols...Its very easy to play around with them breathing them into different chakras.. take them on a journey round your blood stream...

even pop them in your mouth.......and allow them to follow the journey your food would take....it'd be interesting to see what if anything, pops out the usual waste pipe!.ahahah

as for the ego.... why is everyone so sure that it dissolves upon death??.......there are many dimensions to our Universe.....I do not believe that everyone automatically becomes......'enlightened' upon death.perhaps a slightly more refined version of our ego journeys with us to higher and more refined dimensions??

back to meditation.has anyone read the Endorphin effect by William Bloom??...I'll post a wee snippet tomorrow, I'm off to watch Strictly Confidential now....
