Otoharo!
Reiki is not something that one learns. If one thinks one is learning reiki, one is not differentiating between WHO is oneself and what is one's ego.
Reiki is not learned. It is an energy that is experienced only. The only way to know reiki is through experience.
Oneself is a BEING. One is not the brain nor does one live in one's brain. Ego does. That is the only place that ego lives.
In reiki, one makes a differentiation between ego in the brain and ONE's BEINGNESS that lives elsewhere than the brain.
Once one has experienced reiki healing and then taken reiki I class, and experienced the attunements, one then has the opportunity to be vigilant in differentiating what ego says and does, and what oneself knows.
Another vigilance is keeping onself clear of blocks to reiki energy. there are so many blocks! Blocks are things like emotions. Especially those emotions one has never pulled out to really look at and examine the feelings of and then choosing to release those that one does not wish to live with any more. such emotions are those from childhood, the betrayals, the neglect, the anger and beligerance, the pains and sorrows. All emotions come from the brain where ego dwells so ego is unlimited in its blow up of the importance of these emotions. Releasing these are difficult and may take lifetimes to do. Especially without help. Then come those emotions related to later home relationships, spouses, offspring, in-laws, etc. These get played out in relationships with friends and at work.
Everyone knows all this. but there is a long gap between having a knowledge of what something is and being done with it.
I can attest to the joyful freedom of becoming clear from emotions.
True feelings, like reiki, are energy. Feelings do not come from the brain where ego resides. Thus, feelings are rich clear avenues for experiencing reiki, and life in general. One never reaches this state without constant vigilance. Feelings are joy, love, tenderness, peace, etc. One can also feel bad. experience sorrow and remorse. But one then has to discern whether remorse is still a feeling or whether it is now an emotion that ego can turn the screws on. Sadness is perhaps the emotion of sorrow, a feeling. Because in sadness, ego has a hayday.

Otoharo!
This is a greeting in the language of Chulan. It is a sentence actually, in English. Ot= that; o=I; ha=God transcendant; har (borrowing the r) =Gopd emininant, ro=you. So it says, that (all things), I, God, and you are all one. Oneness.

truthseeker,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- we do not 'learn' ULE, of course
- it is already all around
>:-}}
- however, we do learn how to connect to the flow of energy and how to improve those connections
- we learn mindfulness thru practice, practice, practice
- we learn the hand positions in Reiki (the practice)
- those who move to the Teacher levels learn to pass attunements or do Reiju, etc
- for myself?? attunements without first having hands-on training and practice and a Teacher are, well.............
- hope this helps

Dear Mr. Nice Guy,
There is a lot of conflicting information about Reiki around. I would recommend reading everything you can get your hands on about it. Then I would recommend using real discrimanation as to what you feel is right for you. If you visit forums like this one, the ongoing debates about Reiki can be very informative and thought provoking. Good luck on your journey.
Blessings,
Roxy

Finality, I love your distinction between feelings and emotions, and how feelings live in the body and all around us, while emotions are ego-interpretations of those feelings. This is a very useful concept, and helps greatly with the vigilance you speak of.
It also helps remind me that Reiki people are not learning to be un-feeling, in fact, letting go of attachments to emotions, clears the way for us to truly Feel.
That is how we honor our Oneness, by Feeling it!
Blessings,
Aronaya

Otoharo!
There is another factor in this subject. That is the role of time. As long as we are healing ourselves of anything, we need time. Fourth dimension does not have time. so I have become aware that I can not leave this dimension until my healing is done. When Lazaris was introducing this concept, he descirbed us as two groups of humans who gradually can not see each other. when in the group that is progressing. the thought of a truck rounding the corner is an instant incident. Bam! No time to get out of the way! etc. When I remember this, I am less disheartened that I am still third dimension.
I ran across a song I wrote in 2000 about two tetrahedons. There is a tetrahedron whose voice increases, and there is another tetrahedron whose voice is phasing out. And together we live in the center of these. It is like a three dimensional star of david. (a tetrahedron is a three sided pyramid, triangle on all four sides.)
I remember in the early days, about 1994, there was a spiritual training system being taught here that was called by its initials and I can not think of its name now. Anyway, this system used a pendulum to get answers to questions that were supplied in a notebook that was a part of the course they took. their aim was ascension. Some members came to a group of mine at which Xaris was present in order to get her oppinion. One person asked if it were possible to take our ego with us when we ascended. she said it was possible but very, very difficult.
Do any of you know thia group. The members I knew personally have all moved away. (I think it may be SRT)
