Is it safe to give Reiki whilst pregnant. What are people's views / experiences on this?
Thanks, Roxy Lady x

Otoharo!
As I understand it, reiki comes in the head, down tot he heart and out through the hands. This by passes the uterus. I see no reason to worry about anything. I can't tell you from experience, however. But I did be reiki with a young woman who was pregnant. The fetus let me know when enough was enough when my hands were in that area.

roxylady,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- as long as the Mother has given permission??
- Reiki away

- if it is the practitioner who is the pregnant one? I see no problem in doing Reiki (as long as your Recipients have given permission, of course)

- remember, as we do Reiki for others we benefit as well

by my experience it is very natural and safe to give Reiki whilst pregnancy. For both the mother and baby as well. It is very relaxing and soothing as it harmonises the body and emotions.

Roxy,
Your responses are split into some who are answering whether it's okay to give reiki to a pregnant client, and another answering whether it's okay for a pregnant pracititoner to give reiki. I thought you meant the latter, but anyway some clarification on that might be useful.

I wish I had been a practitioner when I was pregnant with my daughter. I certainly would have both given reiki to others and laid hands on myself.
Would I have allowed others to work on me? No.

I am a practitioner of reiki. I have always found that pregnant women (and their in utero babies), respond just fine to reiki. I also continued giving treatments to others and myself throughout my pregnancies. I noticed in both circumstances, the babies would respond, either moving under my hands for more, or away when they had received enough during that session.
In spite of my "advanced age", both pregnancies were great with none of the so-called age-related problems of blood pressure elevation, varicose veins, stretch marks, downs syndrome, gestational diabetes etc etc and so forth.

Just been blessed with working with a good friend and her babe -to-be. Reiki & craniosacral. Couldn't believe how I felt afterwards.....came away knowing that I had received so much more than I had shared...love how they're teaching me so much. I'm tone-deaf...and yet, I was singing like you wouldn't believe afterwards.....this lady is a gifted piano teacher & singer & the babe is so gifted, too....wow!!!
