Hello Friends,

This has probably been asked before, but I don't remember the answer. Is there any danger in giving Reiki to the heart of someone wearing a pacemaker?

Blessings,
Roxy

Hi:

My friend had open heart surgery and following that one surgery they also put in a heart pacer later. I've been giving her Reiki for several months and she is improving greatly. I don't leave my hands over the heart area as it may be too strong but other than that everything else is the same.

Love and light,
copper

I've treated a client with a pacemaker with no ill effects.

I believe that's one of the earlier stories about "don't use Reiki on...". The others I have heard were: diabetes, pregnancy, and broken bones.

I try to treat the body, not the electronics. Will be more of a consideration as we absorb more and more artificial parts into ourselves.

Blessings,
Aronaya

Hello Aronaya,

I've heard contraindications on laying hands directly over the heart (pacemaker or no) and, as you mention, on broken bones before they are set.

I wonder what thoughts there are on these matters?

Peace Be,
