What about 'The Secret'?

Do you believe in the concept in the video called "The Secret"? How does Reiki impact your manifesting and attraction abilities?

I have noticed that the energy around me is high and I have been able to manifest stuff, both good and bad.

What do you think?

Be careful what you wish for...

Certainly! What the video talks about is simply faith, and how to stay in that faith unwavering. Doubts and negative thoughts always come between us and what we desire.

Now when I think back, I feel that I always had this conscious and subconscious desire to learn how to heal and that's what brought Reiki to my life. Not sure if Reiki helps in attracting things to us, I guess that is more for the mind to do. OTOH, we use intent (part of the mind) while channeling Reiki so there does seem to be a correlation between the two. Though perhaps other posts in this thread could elucidate this even more.

aum,

Hi,

- for some, "faith" seems to be little more than a self-righteous excuse not to be open to change"

>:-}}

- for others, it is an inability to appropriately question authority

- for still others, faith is a more serious form of blindness

Cheers,

RC

I do not know what others' views upon faith are. I simply used the word "faith" in context of the movie. I'm sorry that some of you feel uneasy with that word, I hope Aim didn't have such a problem.

well in some schools of thought or knowing, faith is who we are.

prosperity,

/*\ Namaste :-}}

- one view is that we are what we do (which for some is a way of suggesting that our Karma is who we are and have been and will be)

>:-}}

- for others, tho, sometimes we are, at least in part, their projections - which thus makes us a bit of an Illusion, no??

- so, if each of us is at least in part someone else's projections then we are all, at least in part, Illusions

bagl

- but back to the original premise: if one acts according to one's "faith", however one defines it, then yes, I suppose one could say, in a sort of round-about manner, that our faith is who we are

- yet, faith is (as is everything else, a matter of perception; perception, of course, being impermanent and Illusory). So, if faith is Illusory, once again then, we each are Illusions

A friend loaned me her DVD of The Secret.
Couldn't figure out why I didn't like it - watched it for one hour--- a person at Reiki Share suggested: "it's too much like an infomercial" Bingo! Perhaps the book would set better with me

faith is indefinable from person to person, its pompous to put someone down because of a tenet of their faith.
We must not mix up faith and belief, however.
People do so all the time, they are not the same thing.
To me faith is just a deeper form of acceptence.
In the reiki tradition I was taught, we're told to accept whatever outcome without condition.
belief then is that something will happen, must happen because of certain conditions being met or enginered to do so.
So I have faith., but I accept that whatever happens happens. I trust that whatever happens happens. I might try to wish and believe it otherwise.
just because you don't believe in faith, doesn't make it anyless true.
