The Reiki Cafe 

Dear Ones,
I was reading in the resources section on an article by Petters about intention and from what I gathered about it, a peron is not supposed to direct Reiki to heal for instance rather than to just let it do it's thing is an interesting point as it suggests possibly Reiki being intelligent. Isn't Reiki about healing? Maybe some situations or people don't want healing or are afraid to be cured and in that case relaxation could be what is most effective. To put a person at ease as opposed to dis-ease yet some people can get fidgity during Reiki so it is a learned skill on how to use it or when to stop. Sensitivity is the key.

- another interpretation would be that one must focus only on getting the energy where it is requested and after that the person or other sentient being will use the energy according to their own intentions

- Petter has, as far as I know, never actually said Reiki has intelligence (though perhaps he has insinuated this into his writings) but if he has or believes this then I disagree with him.

Dear Firekeeper,

Well that makes sense to direct energy where it is requested and not go further with it. Now if people wanted to gather to direct Reiki to healing an event or situation such as 9/11 to get healing & closure for those affected, would that in your opionion, be appropriate if the group was in another area of the country?

- one practitioner or many (in a group) the issue of permission still applies (the location of the group being irrlevant)

- how can one send energy to a situation without also having the energy reach the people involved???
