The Reiki Cafe 

Hi. I was attuned to level 1 Reiki & Seichem 20 days ago. It has been wonderful. As customary, I do an hours Reiki on myself each day. I have experienced some stuff and would like your insight/feedback if possible. My Reiki master is on holiday so I can't ask her yet!

I have always been spiritual and now feel/see more. I get pressure on my 3rd eye and top of my head, and see colours during self-healing. I also saw/felt 3 golden beings in front of me in week 2 after my attunement. They were so beautiful. Not sure who/what they were. I also saw my grandfather who died years ago.

When healing my friend (who lost her father recently), I sensed he was there with a message for her. I tried to ignore the feeling (in case it was my imagination) but 'he' wouldn't go until I'd told her what he wanted to say!

One thing that bothers me is that when I do Reiki on people, I pick up their emotions especially grief. This upsets me and can be overwhelming. I use the violet flame for protection. Do you overcome this with practice?

Finally, I feel a lot of self doubt - am I good enough? How will I know what to do? Where's this taking me? Etc.

Also the 21 day clearing has done me the world of good!

Your experiences are common among reiki people. Just go witht he flow of it all. It is your head which wants to ask questions. In your knowing, you know. All of us has to clear ourselves of old emotions. Eventually you will not have an emotion left. Emotions are in the brain, they are thoughts masquerading as feelings, but they are not. Your true feelings are love, joy, etc.

Other answers will use words you may better understand than mine.

- the process of 'clearing' may occur for more or less than 21 days after a Reiki class and attunement

- it is possible the three entities to whom you refer were curious about what you were doing now that you had been attuned and your connection to the flow of enegy was growing

- for myself?? I routinely ask the Recipient if hs\she wants any feedback during or after the energy work whether it is hands-on or at a distance

- as your practices continue and your experiences with hands-on with a variey of people widens, I have a feeling your confidence will grow as well

- there are any number of ways to respond to emotions or other 'stuff' one senses in others or even picks up from others to 'protect' oneself

- but, sometimes part of the task is to try and help the person get a handle on something - thus bringing it 'closer' to oneself at least briefly is very helpful

- but, of course, one must be fairly certain one can then release the energy involved - we do not want to carry around other people's stuff

Thank you everyone for your kind words. I feel this is just the beginning of a wonderful journey for me. And it's great to have this website to share on.

I have been using Reiki for over 2 years now, and I can feel others emotions, those that are around me and those I am doing a healing on, But I have never seen entities, spirit guides or anything like that. I would like to ask, and this is for anyone, is there a way to foster the connection with your spirit guide?

- entities that decide to avail themselves as spirit guides have their own agendas - they do not belong to us

- shamans seek 'relationships' with power animals who may agree to such a partnership - the shaman or the power animal may dissolve the relatinship temporarily or permanently

- for myself?? I joyfully interact in these sorts of relationships as long as they persist - I try my best not to hope for more than there may be

- hope, afterall, is one of the great sources of suffering (as is, of course, hopelessness)

I'm the same, not seeing the entities, or maybe not even feeling them. But I do on occasion felt others emotions, and also sometimes seem to sense when somethings to happen, that last could be my analytical side surfacing helped along by my intuition, which is pretty cool.
The downside of feeling someones other emotion, was when for some reason on two seperate times I got really angry, and a couple of minutes later my boss gave us a bolliking over something, after that altercation, my emotions returned to normal.

Welcome to the well populated "doubters club". There are so many doubters out there we can't get the door shut anymore. Though, not everyone comes for every meeting.

One good thing about the doubts, is if you ride them through they just disappear. But, they occasionally return to burst some little bubble you have gotten excited over. I wonder why that is. It's a TEST?

I did learn to ignore unimportant things that I have no control over after learning to let the doubts of reiki slip into oblivion.

Now I have a whole new challenge and the doubts return. In short, you are not alone. But, you are in the best place possible to get through them. Everyone here is wonderful at propping you up and keeping you going until you can do it yourself.

Just be yourself and enjoy Reiki by sharing it with others.

When I was in the early days of working with a guide, I simply spoke to him/her. I would ask questions and get answers back. It was like talking to the air but the air answered back. Just do it.

you can try to meditate into a deeper state......

and when you are using REIKI , try to stay peaceful and clam......soon the others will not be able to affect you...

I like that, finality....."talking to the air...the air answered back". And if I truly get quiet....how much more will I hear....

Thank you Hearth_Reiki. I am beginning to realise that seeing beings etc is part of my learning process and I have been 'going within myself' & meditating to find answers. This can be very powerful and I'm doing it gradually.

Last night whilst doing reiki on myself I saw/felt a tall young monk dressed in light and golden coloured garments; he was glorious! I asked for his blessings and it felt very special. I feel these 'visitations' are part of my path and I truly feel very privileged and protected. This last month has been a turning-point in my life and I'm very excited about the future.
