The Reiki Cafe 

Hi, I am a chinese , so my english might be a little bit poor(sorry about that)

I have been attuned to reiki for about 2years, and I learnt alot of things in my life......

You all can never felt the what I really feel....unless you all been through my life......

I don't know how to say , but , after being stupit for 6month, today I really woke up......

Here is my story: The first time I attuned to reiki , I don't even know what is reiki , and after being attuned to reiki , I start searching for information about reiki....

And I found out that , symbols were not used in reiki(this question is very simple....just think and you will know...)

Maybe I am a chinese , so is easier for me to believe there were no symbol in reiki....cause using symbols is actually making you to focus on the symbols...

And I knew that , as a Reiki master , he should be teaching people to let-go and not focus on more things....

As a chinese, we knew that energy is "lead"(you can's say control...cause is kind of differen) by our intent......

If our heart is silent , peace, calm, our intent will be stronger , so as our energy......

So, Usui as a Reiki master , I think(cause I got no proof) he taught meditation instead of symbols......

But I think not everyone is smart enought to focus on intent, so Usui added in 4 symbols....

And this 4 symbols actually is "language".....the first 2 is picture language , and last 2 is juse chinese words.....

dai ku myo in chinese, means to regain our ability, wisdom, pure that we have forgotten......

So you can see, or maybe try to understand what I am saying......Symbols is just something to helps us , not to "control us", I have been control by symbols for 6 months and is long enought for me to wake up......

Reiki means , link to the energy(this is ture, and unless you are a japanese of a older age, or you might not know this)

Reiki Rei in japanese is also link, the reason i knew this is because I met a Japanese Reiki Teacher.....(my teacher's teacher)

So , during these past 6months, I have been re-attuning to Reiki madly.....And keep using symbols everyday.....(Is like mental illness)

And some how , while I meditate, I woke up......

And now I laught at myself, and ask"what are you thinking about?!"

My Reiki Teacher, he don't really agree about using reiki with intent(this is the reason why i gone mad)....but after he learnt SKHM REIKI , he felt that you don't have to be attuned to all the symbols, and attunement is not attune to symbols is to the link(REIKI)...or universe...

And due to this , I woke up, he now agree to what I said 1 and a half year ago......And I felt that is kind of stupit to something "that you know for sure is wrong".......

But I thank my teacher anyway, if he don't agree to "this" , I might be mad for my whole life.....(maybe not)

Good NEWS is I woke up, and return to my reiki path.....

I felt I am alive now , and I will keep meditating.....(and i hope walks into "extra path" anymore)

But going through this "extra path" helps me to understand more and more things, and strengthen my reiki connection......(faith...)

Even a teacher might be wrong....

Very interesting comments. I wonder about reiki I student being given symbols. In my lineage, that does not come until reiki II.

Evaluating what we are taught is always a good idea wether it is Reiki or not. A teacher opens the door but the student must walk through it and hopefully beyond it.

I believe that what you wrote is true, that the symbols are a way to attach to meaning & intent. Repetition or repeated use of the symbols sets the intent within us. Each of us processes information a bit differently and some utilize the symbols more than others. Some need the symbols & that is OK.

As for teachers, he or she did what he/she was to do: introduce you to the concepts, open the door. The rest is up to us.

Well, first , I have to say sorry for my "poor english"......

I know that every person got its own way of thinking, but I still hoping to find out how to make REIKI a better healing systems......

I suggest that you mean you are searching for how to evolve yourself to where the fourth dimension is and where reiki is. It is not to make reiki better, but to make yourself better able to connect with it. All power to you in your search.

I don't know how to say that but, you see, reiki systems got alot of changs , and i hope to find out how usui taught his ppl...

I think your english is just fine, you sure get your ideas across and they make sense to me.
I'd heard that the symbols were there to help people to latch onto an idea of what the symbols are meant to stand for.
I'd also heard that when Usui taught reiki, he taught by example and that just being in the presence of him, the student 'learned' reiki or became attuned.
This took a long time and so usui came on the idea of the symbols probably through long meditation.
The symbols are a short cut, and just as affective as the long
way of attunement.
I would also like to learn of how usui taught his students.
And how he attuned them also.
The way I have been taught is complicated to me, although probably more simplified, but I find that there are more symbols used than maybe are needfull.
But this is my way. And well maybe it's a long way, but there is no wrong way. I trust.

I was attuned by Rand and learned the symbols from him. We were taught that the symbols were like keys to a lock. I wondered about this. All things carry their own vibration....and thoughts are things. If the symbols are a vibration meant to open another vibration, why not go directly to that vibraton?

My husband and I conducted many experiments with the help of our energy seeing granddaughter. Short stuff had told us about the colors of the symbols. I pulled up a web site which had many symbols from assorted Reiki "schools". She pointed out to me that many were the same color. The kid asked me why I used the symbols when I already send the energy in the different colors?

It is my understanding that the symbols give a visual focus for those unacustommed to energy work and working with intent.

As for strenghtening Reiki, I agree with finality. We have to make our selves a better conduit.
