What things do you remember about your Reiki classes, or anything about Reiki that might be amusing or mind boggling.
No, I didn't get my fingers stuck in my teacher's nose during my Level I attunement.

When I was reciving my attunement, for the first time, my spine shake....
here is the story.....when my teacher attune reiki energy my chakras.....my spine will felt that energy and shake....untill now , I don't know why, but is very funny.....even is a distance attunemnet, my spine will shake too.....
And maybe the others can say I faked it.....but , is very funny, I don't think anyone can faked that.....(even myself)
I tried to fake that kind of "shaking"(but is impossible)
I can't.....
So me and my teacher knew for sure.....that's real.....(even my teacher asked me if i faked it, but he himself can't faked that- -", so he believed me......)
And here's another funny thing......my teacher re-attuned me to reiki for many many times, and every time when he was doing that "attune-step" , then my spine will shake......
Still, is very funny, I don't even know why , but......if you all see "that shake".....you will laught too....

On one occasion, when I was getting an attunement, the bells for the angelus began to toll(12.00pm) and on another occasion
dogs began to bark, and I think on another cats began to miaow, but I'm not to sure of that one.
I also remember during yet another attunement, I think it was for masters, I 'saw' golden sunny glow at the feet of one lady who was giving a practice attunement to another, and at another lady's feet who was recieving a pool of silver white glow, both from the corner of my eye.
I also seem to remember after attunements, traveling as if in tunnels under the earth at ferocious speeds.

There were several of us getting attuned at once and we were sitting in chairs side by side. My stomach kept growling and rumbling and I really hoped no one could hear it. Then I heard those around me doing the same thing. We had just eaten lunch, so it wasn't that we were hungry. Something about it made me want to start giggling, but, thank goodness, I held it in.
I've since noticed that whenever I receive energy work my stomach does this. It must be a common side effect. :)

Before attending the master class I had sat in a restruant listening to a psychologist talk about one of his "crazy" patients. The patient claimed to see an animal every where he went. He said it was there with them in the office. No one else ever saw the animal.
This psychologist attended the master class. He said, "Since the attunement, I have seen a golden cocker spanial. It is here now licking my toes."
I did not get a chance to talk with the man. But I sure would have liked to ask him about his diagnoses of his patient now that he could see what others could not.

After my first attunement, one of my cats went crazy! She knew there was something very different about me. She kept sniffing my palms.

Otoharo!
That reminds me of the time I meditated most of each day for a week. This was pre-reiki. I visited with my friend who lived in an appartment of her daughter. The daughter had a cat that stayed on the screened porch while the daughter was at work. this cat could see and hear us through the separating door. Finally, my friend let the cat inside. It went straight to me and licked the center of my palms. Then lay beside the chair where I was sitting. His posture was similar to the resting posture of a lion. I made a comment about this, and that cat stuud placing his front paws on the arm of that chair and gave me a look I shall never forget. The pupils of his eyes stood out like two pencils . I have never seen anything like it since.

The funny thing was that he did not realize that some of the people that may have heard him speak of the client would be seen later at the class. He was having breakfast with another therapist.
Watching his face as he talked about the cocker was a riot. He was adamant that he could see it, wanted us to say we could see it, and appeared fearful about the whole thing.

hello Birdy,
When I took my first attunement, I distinctly remember that, when my Reiki master called on all the spirits of the master's in her lineage to be present, there was a flash of orange energy as she called each name.
Quite an awesome experience!
A friend told me that, when she was doing her Reiki 2, all the students were sent out to practice drawing the symbols. One woman went into a field, sat down on a log and, closing her eyes, began her practice. When she opened her eyes again, there was a group of sheep standing in front of her in a perfect semi-circle, watching her intently. I understand that they didn't even move when she got up to go.
But I cannot say whether or not they are still there - perhaps someone had to shout "mint sauce" to get them to move.
Bagl.
Slan go foille agus beannacht leat.

Hi all,
Our class was gathered in one room, some sitting and chatting or asking questions while another student was on the table and I was doing a Reiki session on her. When I was finished the teacher asked for comments or questions. I was totally floored when 1 person said he saw green energy passing from me to her and a different color something pass from her to me. Like I was pulling something out. I knew something was going on with her wrist and I spent some time there, but it was really exciting to have it explained in living color.
One class we did yoga exercises to massage the chakras. Unfortunately, most of us fell over so much the teacher gave up.
My classes always had a strange makeup. There was me who was only interested in Reiki and always 2 or 3 other people who were there to get another certificate. Like it was a hobby or something. Makes you wonder how many were serious about Reiki or just workshop junkies.

bagl
by the way what does bagl mean? I always want to laugh when ever I see it. what a lovely term.
One and the first and only session of a sweatlodge I had a year and a half ago. one of the lads said he say 4 lights around me. Both of us heard as if a large animal was snuffiling or scratching with it's hoof behind me when we were drumming.

Workshop junkies take whatever workshop, seminar or pool party is available. It's almost like a full-time job. I've met a few and felt very sorry for them. They didn't seem to have a focus. Maybe they need to be around people. They say they like learning alot, but aren't interested in college classes or anything like that.
I tend to be picky because I don't have a lot of time available. Some I have to go to because of my job and that's where I meet them. Some workshops are good but I've been to a few where they could have handed out the paperwork and sent you home. One instructor gave us an inch thick stack of paper and proceeded to read word for word from them for 2 days. Including the "I'm so happy you could all be here today" at the end. The 2 junkies in that class just loved it.
In the Reiki classes several people were there for the certificates to add to their resumes. Another notch in the belt. Everyone else was getting a Reiki certificate and they were keeping up. I wonder where they all are now.

thank you for that, birdy.
I didn't fully realise what workshop junkies meant, and may was being a bit frivolous with the term.
I've attended various workshops which featured reiki and the add ons, such as violet flame, golden dragon and seichim.
I did these because I was on a roll and it seemed like a good idea at the time, in fact I think I got kinda addicted to doing them. I've also gotten addicted by going to healers, such as shiatsu and reiki. Maybe I don't do it as often as I think I do, but find that if a couple of weeks go by I need a fix. or maybe because I really needed to.
None of these things are ever wasted, though.
I'm begining to find my feet so to speak, and feel that I can relie on myself and don't need these things to feel fulfilled.
It's been a journey.
I have though, taken college courses and lessons to do with music. Maybe I'm not a workshop junkie, but I sure like the attention.
the people you described sound like a sad bunch, and therefore perhaps worthy of compassion.

I remember going to Adam, the DreamHealer's seminar in Los Angeles. Now, that was a lot of people, but most everyone was so happy, full of joy & hope & positive things. I was surprised to find out that the people helping were volunteers, who come back, again & again. There are worse places to be, I think, and as Jaguar so aptly put it....we all have our pathways in our own ways. If I were to find sadness in what I saw....I think I'd be judging. This is so much fun, birdy! Keep up the great work!

Hi all,
I don't think I got what a "workshop" junkie is across.
Most of us explore by going to classes, continuing education, etc. Which are usually related to what we are interested in. Maybe a handful of things and probably related in some way.
"Junkies", go to whatever is within driving distance. From how to repair a crack in the sidewalk to grooming your poodle or maybe knot tying and how to safely dig for worms. Don't care what the workshop is about, they are there to take it.
I hope no one took offense at my observations. It was not meant to be hurtful, just my confusion.
BACK to memories of Reiki classes.
Our room was so small for 4 people, a massage table + a teacher, that when we smudged we had to eventually go outside. There was too much smoke. When it rained we did the smudging under the overhang of the building. I didn't know a cup with sage in it could make so much smoke.

I didn't think anyone was offensive, birdy, honest. I've been enjoying the banter back & forth & giggling at your "From how to repair a crack in the sidewalk to grooming your poodle or maybe knot tying and how to safely dig for worms." Then again at....the visuals of too much smoke....you're so much fun, cookie!

Yes! I notice this a lot when giving reflexology! Tummy rumbling abounds! It's a sign that energy is moving & not to be worried about. Clients apologise for it, but there's no need to - it's a good sign.

Maybe not meaning to offense, but being mindful of your intent, being apolegtic of your deed, imaginary though it seems, shows compassion, and fills me with love.
Ok, bad poetry aside, you didn't offend, me at least; I don't know of any others.
Horses for courses, as they say.
