I have been attracting more and more reiki clients who have cancer. I wonder if other people have experience with reiki and chemo therapy. When is the best time to do the reiki-before the chemo, or after? Although it seems that during the chemo and/or both times would be ideal, what is realistic in the treatment of someone who is using both conventional and alternative therapies, and a limited amount of time and money. Any insights on the issue would be helpful.

reikisnow,
namaste.
Welcome to the cafe.
I am glad for your voice and light.
if you charge for your reiki then payments are a "mundane' matter between you and the client, I suppose will determine
how often reiki is done. if there is budgetary constrain i would concentrate the reiki session at a time fairly distant from the last chemo treatment but not the same day as the next one.
reiki may be sent by distance as well, any time. You might get client permission for folks at the reiki boards to send to them.
in all cases I would be sure to "aim" :-}} at the thymus - hands or distance.
focusing on any tumor sites is also important - mindfulness and Intent can make a pretty narrow reiki beam - I have a wand i use on rare occasions for focus on a very small site.
hope this helps,
reiki all around,
all blessings,
firekeeper

Dear Firekeeper,
I hope you don't mind me asking about your wand. (How it is made) I have made many wands over the years mine have crystals in them. And would you mind guideing me as how to, and when to use one in a Reiki Treatment.
Thanking you, most sincerely Aquarius.

aquarius,
namaste.
welcome to the cafe. :-}}
though I use such "tools" rarely, I do so primarily as protection for me.
by focusing the energy through the wand, only with certain recipient whom I may not wish to physically touch during aspects of a given session, I hope to ensure nothing gets back to me from physical touch - and that the energy is well focused.
I use only Citrine in making energy tools (or in energy work). Citrine has the unique quality that it does not "collect" energy of any sort - therefore never gets "polluted" - never needs cleansing - and is a clear medium for energy.
my wand is a straight, wooden wand - wider diameter at one end than the other which comes to a point. There is citrine at each end and copper wire windings that connect the ends of the wand.
I hold the wand in the right hand and touch or direct the point end at the site needing focused energy.
hope this helps,
reiki all around,
all blessings,
firekeeper
