Is it possible to do too many Reiki sessions in a row. I had 3 appointments in 3 hours and I was so out of it by the time I got home I didn't want to move. Or maybe I was attacked by a bug. I didn't feel very good the next day. After that I was fine.
Just wondering.

Hi Birdy,
Yes, I think it is possible to do too much Reiki. I don't think it comes from the Reiki itself, but the other mental activity that comes with it. It takes concentration which is tiring mental work.
Rock On!

Roxy,

- some would say to apply a bit of the reiki to oneself during the work

- and, using less personal energy durng Reiki can work all sorts of wonders, afterall

Hi birdy,
Namaste ....
I think everybody is different, but I certainly couldn`t "do" three Reiki treatments in three hours!
For a start, I like to give clients a chance to talk beforehand, then do the Reiki, then give them time to come around properly with water to drink, before they leave.
So I am looking at up to 90 minutes and sometimes even longer, per person.
And the concentration involved means that if I have clients back-to-back, by the time I get down the line, I would not be able to offer the same level of attention, which would not be fair.
I`m very lucky in that I work from home, so I can choose when and for how long I book clients. But from what you say, it sounds as if you may be pushing yourself too hard.
Love and light

philany,

- I agree, of course, that three 1 hour sessions back-to back-to back might be construed as bit extreme
- practitioners must take care of themselves as well, afterall

I have done 3 like this before and been fine...I'm not sure if I know how to use my own energy. I can sail through 2 and go home happy as a clam...this time 3 did not go the same way.
I will have to experiment with the situation.
Thanks!

Otoharo!
I am not claiming to kmow what you experienced. but I know that when one holds reiki for the client, the client feels wonderful and the practitioner now has the stuff of the client to continue holding the reiki until it is all transmuted.

Hi Finality,
Would you please explain in a little more depth. I'm still trying to figure this out too.
It is amazing at the difference in people before a Reiki session and after. It feels wonderful to help others.
Thanks!

birdy,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- what I suggested was that perhaps the times you feel rotten reflects times you use too much personal energy during the sessions (Reiki is about ULE, afterall)
- keeping personal energy out of Reiki sessions as much as possible is important
- and, one can use some of the ULE brought to the recipient oneself - there is a rather huge supply of ULE around, afterall

Otoharo!
Forget about what I said. It does not apply to you until it does. And the intellect which is the part of you reading this, can not comprehend. I should have kept my mouth shur on this one.

It`s lovely, isn`t it, to see the difference from when someone comes, to when they walk out at the end of a session?
Finality, I don`t agree with you. If you are offering Reiki as a clear channel, then you benefit from the ULE, as Firekeeper says, but you don`t take on the "stuff" from the patient.
At the end of a Reiki session, hopefully the practitioner feels as great as the recipient.

philanty,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- I would offer that under normal circumstances a practitioner will not pick up 'stuff' from a recipient or vise versa
- however, not all circumstances turn out to be 'normal' and a practitioner could inherit some unwanted stuff from a recipient (and vise versa)
- to keep such events to an absolute minimum, mindfulness and intent must be nutured
>:-}}
- it is recipients (and indeed, each of us too) who must learn to rid themselves of unwanted 'stuff' without foisting it off on someone else

I find myself at this stage of kind of stepping back in my mind when I think of giving reiki.
It's kind of like, I'm looking at a glass of water which I'm holding.
water is the reiki, glass is my physical me, and me looking is just directing traffic as it were. But it's taken a lot so that I've gotten to this stage, I'm only now realising it.
It's a good idea to take a wee break, me time, as it were, between sessions. I have to remember that when I start.
I haven't give treatments much, but I feel its near time to.
wish you luck

I guess we all instinctualy know what we need, but forget to listen to ourselves.
