The Reiki Cafe 

Today I was reading Essential Reiki by Diane Stein. A very nice non traditional approach to Reiki. In her book Diane discusses how to meet your Reiki Guides. I have just assumed they are there but would love to communicate with them like she discusses in her book. I have tried the meditations to meet my angels before...but I do not have success. Can anyone make a suggestion? Is there a blockage? I am open to suggestions. Thank you

I love Diane Stein and Vinnies' Reiki Plain and Simple....I miss him. Such good words, Carole. I've found, Nver2late, that often I'm trying too hard....almost, as if I can manipulate results or what I want. I'm not saying that you're doing this, my friend....just that the more empty I am...being in the moment....after I've requested assistance or guides...then, it seems to happen.

Thank you both for your thoughts. I guess I will just quietly keep listening. It will happen when it is meant to be I guess. I am happy I have found this board. I find your knowledge and healing a wonderful place to visit. In 2008 I hope to grow in my Reiki to ReikiIII. Just a goal for the New Year. Thanks everyone...

Hi, I agree with firekeeper, all will happen in time. You may like to try before you sleep each night asking them to draw close to you maybe give you some words during your sleep time, note the first thoughts you have when you awake, keep a diary for this and dreams, you will feel when they are drawing close to you, just relax, some people see others feel others sense, however they make themselves known to you just 'know' they are there.

Never really liked diane stein, read her book as you decribed and found it slightly anti-male. But horses for courses.

Dreamt of Indians again the other night. And a stone and its companion with japanese glyphs which I gave to one for the safe keeping of another. Also in the dream a cold summer. But maybe it was the cheese before bedtime that did it. bagl

As for reiki guides and the like, even though I don't think I've ever met any, They may be coming to me in my dreams and role-playing the things I need to get sorted. If so, it'd be very heyokah! (hope I didn't insult by saying that(in case the're listening)) bagl.

Hi Nevr2late, just picked up your post, I think I must have been very lucky because when I was attuned to Reiki 1 I clearly saw during the attunment many beings who the master/teacher had asked to be present ie: all our guides, angels, ancestors higher beings as well as Dr Usui etc, our master also requested that any new or specific guides for Reiki to be there and step forward whether they were in the form of an angel or whatever all in the attunment experienced a 'vision' of one or more 'beings', I place that word in inverted commas simply because we all use different terminolgy to express our idea of guides/angels. I have sinced been made aware that these 'beings' show themselves in a humanistic form to please us, we all know they are pure energy as we shall be when we return to spirit, they also are aware that it is easier for us if they show themselves in a more human form, for instance a very old indian appeared to me during meditation (alone and with group) and I asked him, being very sceptical ie why do we all seem to see indians? (sorry native americans) his reply was very simple he appeared to me as a native american simply because I was so sceptical to others he appeared in other guises I then asked him to show me how he is, and I saw quite clearly the most beautiful light that was at the same time blinding and yet very gentle soft soft colours. Your guides/angels are with you from when you draw your first breath to when you return to 'spirit' some stay always some come to help you with a specific thing but never doubt they are there with you whether you can 'see' them or not their presence will make itself known to you.
