Hi all, I was hoping I could get some light on this subject. I am a second degree reiki since Oct '07. About a week before Christmas I received my first chance to use reiki on someone who isn't family or myself.
Long story short, I was in charge of the children's pageant at my church this Christmas, One of the children was not coming to practice so I called the parents and was told she had been in the hospital (serious respiratory condition). I told the father that if she was home and well enough that she would have a spot in the show, no problem, and also to call the church and ask for distance healing to be done on her at which point I mentioned that I was reiki 2 and I would be happy to do some distance. At this point he said, "oh no, would YOU please come to the hospital and work on her in person." I was apprehensive this being my first time on a non family member and the situation as grave as it was, I questioned if I was ready, worthy, good enough... but in the end I don;t believe in ever refusing anyone a request for healing so I went.
I performed Reiki on the child, the exhausted mother and father, who both have conditions and handicaps of their own... at the end of the session I was so exhausted, my head was spinning, I felt as if I was going to pass out... then the noxious feelings crepted up, and I excused myself. The moment I got out into the hall I began vomiting, monstrous amounts, it just wouldn't stop.
I have yet to have the opportunity to speak one on one with my Reiki teacher. So I am still a little troubled by this. Can anyone shed any light on the physical manifestations that fell upon me that night?
By the way, after I vomited I felt perfectly fine, in fact, I was very hungry and stopped for a milkshake on the way home.
Also, the child is well now and was able to perform in the Christmas Pageant.
