RC,

Hi, I don't think that Vinny's disillusionment was with Reiki itself but with the people who just didn't see the value of his message and with the overwhelming majority who continue to teach all sorts unrelated material as Reiki.

I also think that there were some other events in his life that took a toll. Don't know what those might be but I got that impression a couple of times.

Anyway, just my impressions.

Wish I had known him better as well.

Hi Rob,

Vinny, as you probably know, had a very big effect on my Reiki philosophy as a whole.

I thankfully found him early on, read and saved his pages for future use. (glad I did because he had to change some of it and I still have the originals)

Aside from him though many other's opinions/viewpoints helped to shape my Reiki view. Peter and Louise, and many unnamed people who posted here years ago. You have given me pause to consider things more than once yourself. While I appreciate James' site, the information there and the work he has done, I haven't found a lot that has significantly impacted how I view my Reiki practice. Maybe James is for one generation of practitioners and Vinny an earlier generation.

I would also like to know what happened with Vinny and have always hoped that it was nothing catastrophic. I have often thought about him.

I do wish that I could get the search engine here to work properly so that I could archive some of Vinny's old posts. We used to have a lot of fun with the Reiki Revival scenario. :-) Haven't had a good revival meeting in years. :-) Sista Luv has had to hang up her tambourine. :-) People seem to have lost their sense of humor. :-)

Rebecca
