Reiki Master w/ pace maker

Hello Everyone,

Namaste...

I have a friend who is Reiki Master and just two months ago, had surgery needing a pace maker.

She is recovering nicely, but is concerned about doing Reiki just yet.

Her concern is coming from the fact that when she tries to meditate or be quiet in anyway, she constantly hears her heart beating...it is almost a thrusting inside her chest.

It is like with every beat she loses mindfulness...

...any suggestions?

And just for some interesting info on this case, when I lay my hands on her heart from the front, the energy feels fine, when I lay my hands on the back of her heart, the byosen is strong.

I thought that very interesting...

I appreciate any thoughts on this.

Abundant blessings,
Mammabear

MammaBear,

/*\ Namaste :-}}

- in meditation mindfulness is rarely perfect - the key is to notice the 'intrusion' but then let it go - and return to the breath

- if she hears every beat this makes noticing and letting go potentially a rapid-fire and certainly annoying task

- I suspect anxiety has something to do with her hyperawareness of heartbeat

- the issues you notice at her back might well indicate that she is storing 'stuff' back there - the back being a haven for stresses and the energy of anxiety and trauma

- perhaps some Reiki to the upper back and base of the skull and Tanden to help her manage anxiety (if that is the issue)

- also, if there is a bunch of unfriendly stuff in the back area then a clearing\extraction may be useful

- hope this helps

Firekeeper,

Namaste...

Thank you, that is very helpful.

A great thought on the difference of front and back energy, too. :-)

It was the type of situation where she wasn't sure she would survive surgery.

She originally went in for an aneurism, and came out with a pace maker, something she hadn't anticipated.

She is otherwise in terrific health. A real factor in her recovery no doubt.

I will suggest the Reiki treatment, but I'm not even sure she will receive. I think she's also worried the energy will affect the pacemaker in some way.

Yes, definately anxiety.

:-))))))))))))

Lots of rain here today...left overs from your last system, I believe. The garden is grateful...grow little seeds, grow. :-)))))

Thanks again,

- I doubt there are any useful studies on the possible effects of Reiki on pacemakers - but, people have their fears whether fact based or irrational

- for myself? If she is well mindful of how she uses the energy then she should be able to manage to steer its effects clear of the device itself (if she feels a press to do so)

Mama Bear,

When I worked at the medical center, I did much Reiki on residents with pacemakers. Never any harm done. I also did Reiki treatments at the hospital. One of the other Reiki masters had a pacemaker. She was in excellent health.

Blackearth,

Namaste...

Thank you for replying. :-)

It is reassuring to hear your testimonials...I will share them with my friend.

I have also worked on some folks with pacemakers, but only a few and also had no problem.

Her biggest issue I think is getting used to that extra hard thump in her chest now, and is a bit anxious about it all. It was a fairly scary thing for her in general, as you can imagine...

Thank you again...

...blessings to your day!
