The Reiki Cafe 

Hello everyone,

I have been lurking around these boards for a while.
I am not reiki attuned but have been receiving reiki on monthly basis for almost a year now.

I really love reiki, the wonderful benefits, the beautiful energy. I have had some spiritual experiences since I have been receiving reiki...mainly with my spirit guide.

I am very interested on getting attuned to Level 1.

How do I know if or when I am ready to be attuned?
Is there a "right" time?

- take Reiki 1 and at the end of the class, accept the attunement

- or, as a few I know have done, take Reiki 1 then wait a bit before accepting the attument (assuming the Teacher will go along with this)

- but take the class and get a bit of practice before being attuned

- if it feels right you will know

Hello Elena,
The fact that you are asking means something. Reiki is the start of a journey that will lead you to many places. At the heart of it are 5 precepts (google 5 precepts). These, and the love that they engender, along with the attunements make reiki what it is. Try living by them for a bit if you are uncertain, see if you can understand why they are important and I think your answer will come.
