well, the second degree class that i was worried about in my previous post never happened. my sister and i turned out to be very tired, and by the time we got together it was late. she was visiting from out of town and had some family visits to abide by.
in the meanwhile, i have a first degree class this friday. this was planned before my sister's was. i suppose it is somewhat fitting to begin teaching w/1st degree rather than any other. in regards to my reiki master, he never did get in touch with me about my sisters class, and i told him of my 1st degree class way before the 2nd degree. i find it odd and very dissapointing. my heart feels that part of being a master/teacher is to be there for your students. i do not want my hand held throughout my classes, but i think it is only right for my master, my mentor, to know of my first class, and be sure i am comfortable with the information i have to pass on.
am i alone on this thought? because i truly do not understand.
by the way, thank you for all those who replied to my first post. much anxiety eased. jen

I agree with you. I think that the RM who taught you should help you. I did not feel a connection with my RM and have
learned what I know on websites and researching on my own.
My RM is and was distant and very, very traditional (black and white). I tried asking questions and all the answers that came back were word for word from a book she read. I can't and don't accept one explanation for most things so pretty funny I ended up with a RM that can't see the gray. Poor Honey.
Ask away and on this website and any others and you will find a range of answers for each question. You will know which answer is right for you.
Good luck on your spiritual journey.
Light and love.

Dear Jen,
Some Reiki Masters expect their students to assist them with training classes (1,2,3) as part of the learning process. It is a great way to get one's feet wet. Perhaps there is a REiki Master Teacher or two near you who would allow you to assist them with a class.
Namaste,

Namaste Jen,
It is a shame your RM does not seem to be there for you, but as has already been said, you will find help and support in abundance here and at other boards:)
When I held my first R1 attunement class, I told my students that we were all experiencing a first ~ they were my first students and they were on their first reiki attunement, and that we had a lot in common to share:) This helped to bond us all closer together, and be there for each other, through the weekend and afterwards.
Best wishes to you for your first class and I hope you all thoroughly enjoy it:0
