Hello to all.
I am a newcomer to Reiki and I am very excited to have found this site. It truly thrills me everytime someone 'allows' me to give them Reiki. I have been asked to give Reiki to a friend to help her stop smoking. I was wondering if I should give her the regular hands-on healing or if I should use Retro and take her back to the time when she started smoking. Can anyone give me their opinion on this? I have only been a Reiki Master for a few months so I am still learning. I can't get enough of Reiki. It has brought me an inner peace that I needed desparately and I am very anxious to share.
Love & Peace~~Phyllis

Phyllis,
Namaste
And welcome. I too have been a master for a bit less than a year, and am learning a great deal just from reading what is being shared here on this board. You have come to the right place.
I know exactly what you mean about inner peace...I too was looking for it for all of my life (as short as that may be), and was desparately seeking it. Isn't it awesome?
All the best,
Dina

Phyllis,

Welcome to the Cafe.
I am glad for your voice and light.
Sometimes we spend too much time on the past - the why's etc.
For addictions, the keys are to be found today and in the future - not abusing the substance today or tomorrow, etc.
The desire to be nicotine free must be transformed into the desire to be healthy. Then one must do those things it takes to be healthy - they will be incompatible with smoking and so smoking will drop out.
As for reiki - special emphasis on the solar plexus, throat chakra, and Thymus.
If you know the Ketsueki-Kokan, do that also at the beginning and conclusion of each reiki treatment.
Reiki all around,
All Blessings,
Firekeeper

Dina,
Namaste
Thanks for the warm welcome and thanks for the inspiration. Awesome is just the start in describing it. I've never had a warmth in my heart like I do now. Especially after I give Reiki to a friend or family member. It's pretty astounding. I hope to learn a lot from the Masters on this site. I find that anytime I am reading these days, it's something about Reiki. Just can't learn enough about it.
Blessings.

Firekeeper,
Namaste
Thank you for your wisdom on the subject. I am not familiar with Ketsueki-Kokan. There is so much to learn that it tends to be overwhelming at times. I find one of the hardest things about giving Reiki is to know the proper technique for the situation. I try to let my guides help me, but my senses are not that keen as of yet. I am doing better as I gain more experience. It is my pleasure to have found you all. I feel like I have a 'family' that I can turn to for answers.
Blessings.
