The Reiki Cafe 

I have heard mention of healing grids and crystal grids and heard that they amplify Reiki for distant healing.

Can anyone explain how you go about setting one up or is it something that only Reiki Masters should do?

Any information would be much appreciated.

As far as I know, Usui never taught about the use of inanimate objects in passing energy.

Crystals and stones and all that stuff is hybridization of the Reiki system.

Personally, I do not sense that any inanimate object will amplify energy - an inanimate object may hold energy temporarily and therefore reduce that which one is able to release from the object later. In my expereince, only citrine does not hold energy in any way and therefore is ideal for certain focused energy work.

However, as a rule, if an object 'holds' energy it will also hold 'negative energy' and so must be cleansed periodically.

The energy we refer to as Reiki, as far as I can tell, resonates best with animates - it is after all Universal Life Energy.

Having said all that, enjoy the lovely crystals. For the style of energy passing you are contemplating, crystals with points or nice sharp facets are better than smooth, round, objects (revisit the extraction work we discussed some time ago).

I'm not sure about working with crystals yet, but I was interested in the effect of the grid for distance work. I'm sort of keeping an open mind about it, until I know more about it. I didn't know whether it has to be done with crystals or not.

I tend to buy crystals when I feel drawn to them and then cleanse and charge them with Reiki and leave them on the window sill in the sunlight. I just like to have them around the house. I was very drawn to a tigers eye stone the other day and purchased it. When I looked up it's uses, I found that it is a stone used for protection. That same night I had a dream about people trying to break into my house and I was trying to keep them out, which kind of seemed coincidental and I wondered whether it was symbolic of needing to protect myself more psychicly.

With regards to the extraction work that we discussed a while back, I have finally located somewhere on-line to purchase a black obsidian sphere....is a 3 inch diameter okay or should it be bigger ?

The dream could simply reflect that your mind had been on protection issues - related to the tiger eye you bought.

Depending on who the 'people' in the dream were, you may have been experiencing aspects of yourself trying to get to deepeer recesses of your psyche - which can be threatening but is healthy in the end. Perhaps the eye of the tiger will help you see in places not yet so well lit. :-}}

As for the obsidian sphere, ours is 2 1\2 inches in diameter.

I would say 3 inches in diameter is maximum and will be most excellent. Again, be sure it is completely black and well polished.

As I understand it reiki healing and crystal healing are two distinctly different types of healing.

That said, each can be used to enhance the other, but neither rely on the other to 'make it work'.

I must say I would be interested to know more about crystal grids, as I have known of several incidences when crystal energies have been verfiable.

From the info that Lee kindly sent me, it appears that you need to be a master to use the grid, as it needs 4 symbols.

I'm not sure that I want to use crystals, I am just interested in the theory :)

Emma is great, she's really enjoying the summer hols and playing with her friends. Her confidence has grown amazingly in the last 6 months or so.
