Namaste.
Okay, here goes this is a bit of a tough one for me, I have never really talked about this with anyone other than close family and I would really appreciate some advice.
Two years ago, I was diagnosed as having Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, I have had it since I was a child, but underwent some therapy two years ago, as I became severely depressed and was finding it hard to cope. Since then, I have had it well under control, using the therapy that I was taught. However, during this cleansing, it seems to have reared itself up again for my attention and I hope healing, My concern is that when I have a problem with it, my thoughts are all over the place and I'm worried about sending Reiki and doing hands on, in case I inadvertantly transfer negativity. I try really hard to be mindful, but one of the problems with OCD is the harder you try, the worse it gets. Should I be doing Reiki, when it crops up?
I would never want to transfer anything negative. At the moment, it is making me feel emotionally drained.
Please, please can anyone advise me on this.
Love and Light
Helen.

Helen, Namaste.
I don't prentend to know what OCD is, but would suggest that when you are feeling really bad that you avoid giving healings.
I don't think I can say 'don't do any at all' because, that in itself may aggrave yur dilema. I feel that only advice is to go for the one's you feel you can cope with easily and put the others off for a while.
Try, if she will gree, to give your M-i-L some distant healing and ask how and what she felt. That may help to indicate weather you could at least send distant healing while you find it difficult to give hands-on healing. I hope this helps. Reiki blessings and healing coming ur way. L&L jonjo

Jonjo, Many thanks,
If you ever get a chance, watch the film 'As good as it gets' starring Jack Nicholson. He plays a man who suffers with OCD and it gives some insight into the disorder and it's effects. It's actually quite a humorous film and helps to see the lighter side of it.
I will follow your advice and on the days where I'm finding it hard, I'll stick to self treating and on the not so bad days I'll do my distance and hands on. I'm hoping that it is just a blip brought up by the cleansing process and that it will settle again.
Thankyou for the blessings and the Reiki, both are much appreciated.
Love and Light
Helen.

Helen,
Sat Nam.
Yes, a delightful and moving film. Nicholson is such a superb actor.
As for trans-sharing negativity? As long as you do not 'share' your energy, negativity cannot be trans-shared when passsing energy by Reiki treatment.
This means, of course, that Mindfulness is always important - and not always 'easy' to accomplish. However, the formal practice of Mindfulness Meditation is designed to 'heal' unhealthy thought activity and energy. So........

Hello Firekeeper,
Namaste.
Many thanks for your reply.
Mindfulness Meditation, is this a set meditation in particular or is it any form of meditation in general ?. At the moment, I struggle to still the mind, so anything that would help, I would be willing to try.
Many thanks
Helen.

Helen,
Namaste.
Check out - Thich Nhat Hanh: The Miracle of Mindfulness: A Manual of Meditation.
Also, search - Jon Kabat-Zinn (I believe) for a series of Mindfulness meditation tapes.
Good hunting,

Just wanted to chime in with my two-cents - both of those resources are wonderful and I recommend them all the time, too. For anyone wishing to learn the basics of Buddhism, I highly recommend "The Heart of the Buddha's Teachings" by Thich Naht Hanh. It, too, talks about mindfullness meditation as well as a form called "Samatha" - Calming the mind. It's such a gentle form, very helpful in times of stress when we feel fragmented.
Namaste,
Eve
