Hi All,
I was wondering, a friend of mine wants to treat a friend with Lupus. Since lupus is an autoimmune disease, and Reiki boosts the immune system, is there a danger in it? Are there any particular positions that would be useful?

Roxy,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- one thing to do is not directly bring energy to Thymus and Throat
- a good way to bring enegy into the body in the case of autoimmune disorders is thru Tanden
- hope this helps,

Thank you Firekeeper,
My knowledge of anatomy is a little sketchy. Where is the thymus located?

Firekeeper,
Excuse my ignorance. But where is the "Tanden". My mother-in-law has Lupus too and there are times that I send her Reiki.
Thank you!

Roxy,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- it is located behind the sternum and extends upwards toward the base of the throat
- if one places the hand center-on the chest with the heel of the palm just below the notch of the throat one will be close enough to Thymus "for government work"

SAH,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- Tanden is the primary Qi portal located just about two fingers width South of Navel

Have been treating a lupus client for some and as reiki is about bringing balance there is no harm caused , ubderstand concern , my clients symptoms are now lessened and can now work part time , something unattainable before reiki , remember lupus is an inbalance of the immune response .

I have a friend with Lupus. She is interested in getting an attunement at the same time I am, in April. Is it a good idea to do this with such a serious illness? Are there any contraindications for attunments? I have multipul allergies and a sluggish thyroid.
