Pain-causes annd effects

Namaste All.

I have been thinking about physical pain today and it's possible causes and effects.

I am thinking particularly about pain that seems to have no proven medical cause ie doctors can find no obvious underlying condition to cause the pain.

A few possibilities have crossed my mind.

could it be possible that the pain has been carried forward from a previous life's injury or condition and that the person still has an issue in this lifetime attached to that injury and/or condition and hence the pain.?

Or is it also possible that negative energy in the person's life may be have caused or be causing the pain?

Could pain also in this case be perceived to be an entity that has attached itself to an otherwise healthy being?

How can we as Reiki practitioners help to alleviate the pain....is there a particular hand postion for pain relief or should hands be applied at the site of the pain? Should Reiki be given more frequently, or will the Higher self just take what is needed anyway?

Also does anyone know of any visualisations that someone could do, to get rid of the pain...sort of like the cording visualisation, as in actually visualising cords maybe attaching to the pain and perhaps cutting the cords. Would Spirit Guides have the ability to take away the pain, if asked by the sufferer?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Love and Light
Helen.

Hi Helen:)

It is scientifically accepted that emotions can and are often the root cause of physical illnesses. Right now I can't quote who or what they say, but roughly speaking - When we think positively we release postive chemicals into the rest of the body. Subsequently the reverse is true, negative thoughts = negative energy. Scientist now say that the physical body comprises not just the brain inside the skull, but that there are millions of brains all over the body. Indeed each cell is capable of processing information routed to it by the chemical reactions generated by our thoughts.

Louise Hay in her book, Heal you Life, lists the reasons and causes of many common ilnness that stem from our outlook on life, most of which has been picked up during our childhood from our peers.

As to your thoughts abut illnesses and past lives, I cannot comment beyond my own impressions that it's not unlikely:))

If you want me to look out the sources of the above, let me know, and I'll go rooting around for you:))

Helen and Jonjo,

Another cause is cell memory of pain. It is my experience that a different part of the body other than the part hurt can also remember the pain. Emotional or Physical. There is a very lovely meditation that you can guide your clients thru that is balooning pain.....then cutting the baloons loose..... Works very well for some, but may need more than one time to get it all.

I have learned that disease is dis-ease. Someone is not happy and they don't deal with their emotional dilema so it slowly works it's way into the physical. This is talked about in the book Hands Of Light by Barbara Brennen. Her new book Light Emerging is also a great one for figuring out why physical pain manifests itself. Essential Reiki also has a list of physical illnesses with their emotional reasons.
It has been proven that white blood cells respond to thought commands... just something else to think about.

As for the solution, Find the lesson that needs to be delt with. Learn the lesson then it will go away. You can visualize it leaving all you want, but if the core belief isn't delt with it will come back until it is. It just will come back as something else, but it will be back.
Best wishes,
Joanna

Hi Joanna and Jonjo,
Namaste,

I like to keep things as simple as possible, and I do know that this meditation, as well as other visualizations work. If the cells remember the pain, why not release those memories. Once the pain is released, or lessened, or the fear of pain removed, it is often possible to work on those 'other' problems more efficiently.

This is basically the same issue as 'emotional release' prior to working with Reiki with a client. When the intense emotions are released, some real work can begin...the client can get to the root cause with a better sense of detachment. (Otherwise it is like chasing a mouse sometimes. You can chase the pain here and there and not get to the cause.) And healing...because the reiki flows much easier and shorter time with the blocks removed.....I may not have the language right, but the work itself is awsome...!!!

Priestess,

Sat Nam.

Interesting technique.

I am familiar with "emotional unwinding". I am curious about 'ballooning' - are the results as good with physically based pain as with emotionaly or soul based pain?

Does ballooning the 'pain' remove the 'memory' of the pain from the cells or just the pain?

Ballooning seems to have some of the aspects of extraction work except that the client mostly does it him\herself.

Hi Jonjo,

Namaste.

Wow!...no wonder it is so easy for the body to become ill and in pain.

I am currently reading Hands of Light by barbara Brennan and am continually amazed at how little we actually know...we see everything as 3 dimensional, when in reality there are so many more layers and dimensions than what we see.

So much to live and learn :)))

Joanna,

Namaste.

Many thanks, I am actually reading Hands of Light at the moment... very slowly due to lack of time:))) and I have not yet reached the part you mention yet, but it is a fascinating book and is making me completely rethink my three dimensional thinking :)))

And yes I totally agree, that underlying issues need to be dealt with to eliminate the symptoms completely.

Got a reference on the white blood cell study you can share?

Thanks.

Firekeeper,
In my experience it does both physical and emotional pain. I personally have not used it on soul pain, at least not that I am aware of. I have used it on about 6 people so far, including myself, by the way, and the results are amazing. Time will tell whether it is permanent, but so far so good with my clients.

I wish I could remember where I read the meditation to give credit where it is due, but cannot at this time. If anyone else knows where it is from, lets give credit.

Hi Helen,

Most certainly.

Client is relaxed, lying down.. You explain the process, that as you talk quietly, the pictures will appear in their mind, and as it appears, it is real. As you name the various parts of the body, they will see a balloon (or balloons) appear attached to a string from that part of the body. The balloon will contain all of the pain and the memory of pain that has been contained in that part of the body. As we progress there will be balloons the entire length of the body. Some larger than others, and even different colors.
***********
Starting with the toes of one foot, work your way up, then the other side, thru the torso, including organs, skin, skeleton, especially hips, back and shoulders, don't forget whereever the site of pain complaint is. (YOU may even see the balloons rising, too. WAY COOL!)
Once this part is complete:
Tell her to visualize St Michael (the angel) on the right side, and themselves out of body on the left. Ask them to request of St Michael the use of his saphire sword. They can see St Michael hand it to them in their left hand, and then holding it with both hands they are to start cutting the strings to the baloons. Watch the baloons rise as they cut the strings into the violet flame. The violet flame completely transforms the pain and the memory of pain into clean, clear, God energy (or whatever is appropriate).

Once that is complete, they are to thank St Michael for the use of his sword and return it to him. Then to return to their own body....

Very simple, and to the point! I have done this on people having a lot of pain, and the reiki is so much faster and well received after this it is amazing!
Firekeeper, I would be interested in your view on this as to whether it helps with soul pain....

Hope this helps!!!!!!

Priestess,

Namaste.

Emotional unwinding involves the release of painful "memories" that have been stored in the body and armored, often with physical "issues", etc. Often the storing occurs in the facia of the body. Abuse victims are often the best but also most fragile candidates.

There are body scans to do, asssisted stretching and movement work while the person "gives him or herself up the work" - which can induce a trance-like state for them.

If the "diagnostic work" is good, the work can bring on very strong emotional release - it is adviseable to have experienced people there - under such strong emotions the physical strength can be unbelievable and it might take a number of people to prevent the client from self injury or injuring others - it can be a case of "controlled" induction of a brief psychotic reaction - as such the person who undertakes such a journey must be prepared - for weeks, sometimes.

It is not for the faint-hearted - and if donne under the auspices of some other professional practice, a full release of responsibility is an absolute requirement.

The ones in which I have participated were done on padded therapy tables set up in an empty room with gym mats on the floor for that is where things usually end up after the diagnostic and stretching work on the table.

Sometimes soft instrumental music is used, but it is really not adviseable to have anything unnecessary in the room.

Of course not all cases become highly agitated or physical but better to be prepared.

Hope this helps.

Not really like ballooning which seems relatively micro and peaceful. :-}}}

Firekeeper,

Namaste,

Thank you for the information. I don't at this point really do anything quite so energetic! ;-D

The ballooning is really quite peaceful...and hopefully loving. I do a bit of hypnosis, and realized when I read the original meditation, that the quiet talking of the patient thru this and asking for verification throughout is in part a bit of that.

But just because it is hypnosis, does not mean it is less important. I walked myself thru it the other night because with the new business I am getting ready to do, my back was really bothering me. After I did the ballooning, releasing fear as well as pain, guess what? no more back pain.

I don't usually try anything on my clients that I have not tried on myself. successfully.
Thanks again!

Priestess,

Namaste.

I went through the procedure some 12-13 years ago preparing to help with people who really needed it.

A very amazing experience though I had very little actual emotional unwinding to do it seems.

During the assisted stretching and movement where the therapists sense the inner energy shifts and assist in moving the body accordingly, one gets into some interesting poses; some exhibiting a good deal of strength - I did a one handed handstand briefly (with assistance only so I would not fall over)- never would be able to do this outside of the trance state. At one point I also felt I was actually 6'7" tall after the assisted stretching. I briefly knew what it was like to be a basketball player sized person.

I would be interested in the meditation for the ballooning if this is something you can share either here or by private E-Mail.

Firekeeper,

Sounds facinating, and strenuous!!!!!! Unfortunately, I have progressed in age to a point that that does not appeal to me!!;-)))

If you look at msg #581, you will find the meditation in a brief way. It is not so much following the exact wording, as following your guides and visualization. I use this on myself periodically, and find it works very well. :-D

Let me know what results you have with this, if you decide to use it....

A lovely exercise.

Soul issues are more intangible that the cellular or tao neutrino :-}} levels of Existence - body too. :-}}

If one thinks of the sacred East - of that which is the Initial Inspiration and the Initial Intention - for me much of Soul issue resides around Intention - and all one has 'intended' to do over many lifetimes.

- Intentions (without actions) beget Karma -

- Intentions beget actions -

- the effects of actions beget Karma -

Having said all that - I will be pleased to try the meditation for myself and try and sense it's manner, if any, of connecting with the best sense I have of my own Soul issues, poor as this sense may be.

Thank you for the sharing.
