Does anyone know if alcohol affects the Reiki energy? Last weekend I was at a friends house and we had a few drinks. She wanted me to send Reiki to her, but I said not right now cause I had a couple drinks and didn't feel right doing it then. If i sent the Reiki would it have been ok or not cause I had a few drinks? I don't think I ever would send it when in that state. But for example if you are at a party and you had a couple drinks and someone was hurt and you wanted to send Reiki, how would it affect them? Would it help? Or would it do nothing cause of the alcohol in your body? Just curious about this. If anyone has any thoughs please reply.

You acted corectly, I have seen and used reiki to lesson the effects of alcohol on friends. But if you do so
be very aware that they don't get the impression OHH i've
had reiki I'm ok to drive.

dear cmmgemini
Sadly, I have discovered I can no longer tolerate any alcohol - not sure if it is the reiki or old age! If I drink I feel really ill (even half a glass of wine :-( ). I am sure that if your intent is of the highest order in an emergency it would do no harm. I am sure the instruction to not have alcohol in ones system when giving reiki was probably more to do with remaining "mindful" - a bit more difficult when under the influence!

I stopped drinking years ago for similar reasons that you are questioning now. With all psychic (as well as normal) functions, alcohol changes us. We get loose, less inhibited. Our shields collapse. We become vulnerable to energies, we get hurt easily, even energies coming from friends.
Would the Reiki have worked? That I can't answer. Could you have gotten hurt from it? Yes. When I saw what alcohol could do to me and my awakening psychic abilities, I stopped drinking. That was seven years ago.
Am I telling you that you shouldn't drink? No. I am telling you to consider what you do, and how you do it. I think eventually, you will make your own decision.
Take care. Light be with you.

hi,
namaste,
Like Eaglestar, I have found that I now have no tolerance for alcohol. Always was a 'cheap drunk'...one glass, I am out. Now I just find that the results of even wine, I don't want to deal with.
I advise my clients that they should not drink for 48 hours after having a reiki treatment. On the rare occasion that someone does drink, (more than one) the results are really similar to a roaring hangover, much worse than they had had before under similar circumstances. Think of the worst 'flu' you have ever had..... that is the one, just like it. :o}
I just don't find that reiki and alcohol work well for me.

cmm,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
To send reiki to someone in need, especially an emergency, is in the stream of Compassionate Action-
If you had a few drinks at the time? So what!! The reiki that gets there will still nurture.
:-}}
Now, does alcohol affect reiki? Well use of alcohol, tobacco or any drug that ultimately acts as physiological depressant also depresses the immune system and the subtle bodies and organs.
The Vegan troops also hold that eating any animal or animal products also has the same effect -
- as A Coyote I know this but tofu really does nothing for me.

Priestess,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
We?? Is that an invitation to dinner and drinks??
>:-}}
For Coyote (myself as well) - we can think of no instances where we would be eating tofu - regardless of the beverage.
:-}}
However, if I am not mistaken Tu Tu Tango serves both?? - if you are interested in tofu.

Firekeeper,
So many dinner invitations, so little time! (this time around)
Certainly, dinner and drink invitations, with or without tofu. (maybe tofutti for dessert?)

tofu, not one of my big favorites, either, but learning to deal with it.
Trying to go vegatarian, but not with a great deal of enthusiasm..... a little at a time. :o}}}

Priestess,
Namaste :-}}
Grand!!
Make mine jerk snipe, couscous, leaf spinach and crimini mushroom salad, and a creme brulee, and coffee with a Bailey's Irish Cream on the side, and a wee dram of 12 year olde Glenfidich single malt.
>:-}}....
Someone once asked me if I would eat tofu if I was stranded on a "meatless" island.
Well, the island may be meatless - but there is bound to be all sorts of seafood one might harvest.

Got enough coffee for one more? I will bring the Baileys.
You need to provide your own whipped cream, though.

Thank you. Glad to be here. As far as the sweet tofu goes, if one coats it in sugar, it is sweet. :))
Love and light.
