Can anyone please advise me if there is a particular hand position to use for epilepsy.

I have been asked to send distantly to an epileptic and would like to know where to focus.

From a "scientific" point of view, one ought to know if the epilepsy is grand mal, petit mal, Jacobsonian, etc.

The site(s) in the brain where the epileptic activity occurs may vary.

From a 'reiki' point of view, since we assume no harm can be done, so anywhere on the head (brain) is appropriate.

However, in a large proportion of "epilepsy" cases the aberrant electrical activity is centered in the left hemisphere of the brain though may "spread" to include the right hemisphere as well during a major seizure.

Sorry, I don't know about the science bit, but apparently it has affected the young man's sense of smell...so perhaps I should concentrate particularly on the front part of the skull.

As I tend to be on the conservative side about what specific medical condition is involved, I would suggest that you at least determine if the person has grand mal or petit mal seizures.

Although Reiki itself is "harmless" so to speak, I am usually cautious about energy being sent where significant neurological reactions (epilepsy in this case) are involved.
