Namaste everyone,
I have been away for some time, now I'm back with a question. :))I hope you remember me...
I have been asked if I could help a two year old boy who had been subject to lack of oxygen during birth,where the left part of his brain had been damaged.He has been
diagnosed to have "hemi cerabral palsi" plus he experiences epileptic attacks from time to time.He is having treatment for both.I proposed to initiate his aunt- she's the one who contacted me- to Reiki one,so that she can give reiki to him frequently.She said she wanted to do it.
Has any of you dealt with this kind of illness? I really want to do all I can for this boy, and would appreciate any advice from you.
Thanks and lots of love,
Selva

Selva,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- it has been a few years since I had much to do with parturitional cases of anoxia
- brain damage due to anoxia is not an "illness" in the classic sense - the structurally damaged brain simply does not function fully or always reliably (hence occasional seizures which are really not an Illness either)
>:-}}
- we do know that some adaptation by adjacent areas of the brain can occur to "take up the slack" from the damaged areas (central nervous system nerves do not regenerate as may peripheral nerves)
- since he is only two, the family needs to be patient to see how the rest of his brain that is "healthier" will develop (up to as late as age 10)
- if you can find a Pediatirc Neuropsychologist in your area to go along with a Pediatric Neurologist the progess and care of this little guy can be enhanced
>:-}}
- in the meantime, attune the aunt if you wish but I recommend that reiki for the child only be hands-on below the head -
- reiki for the head might be better done with the hands held 1-2 inches off the scalp
- hope this helps
Reiki all around,
all blessings,
Firekeeper

Namaste Firekeeper,
It's nice to be in touch again. I thank you very much for your immediate reply and advice. Of course it helps - as always. :))
Best wishes,
