The Reiki Cafe 

I will be taking Reiki I this week and I am very excited about it. I hope it will be as good an experience as everyone here narrates they have. I would like to receive any advice or suggestions to prepare for the class.

I will give you the advice that was given to me....have no expectations and just let the Reiki flow....and of course most importantly....enjoy :)

My best advise is to put away your expectations and be open to the experience.
My hands on attunements have been decidely unspectacular, however, my connection to the energy cannot be denied.

Also, I recommend a hot tub soak with 1 cup sea salt added the night before you start your reiki training. Be sure to take a quick, cold shower rinse at the conclusuion of your soak.

Wear loose fitting clothing, no rings (except wedding band or engagement ring) or watches or jewlery.
If your nervous and have trouble getting to sleep the night before count your out breaths in repititions of nine until your reach 36. If you forget your count start again from the very beginning. Hopefully this will relax you, and get a good laugh if you forget how to count.

I echo Helens comments, and would add one more, don't assume, that if others seem to have a more 'spectacular'/'amazing'/'wonderful' attunement than you, that yours is somehow lesser than theirs. Believe me, whatever your experience it will be right for the time and space you are in now.
