Namaste,

I have two quick questions :)

Firstly does anyone else ever get a sensation on one side of their head....tingling and like someone has rested their hand gently there? This has only ever happened since being attuned to Reiki and is happening a lot today.

Secondly, my husband often receives Reiki both hands on and distantly form me, so is familiar with the sensations. He has a problem in one particular area and this morning he said that he felt the sensation that he gets from Reiki in this particular area....I hadn't consciously been sending him Reiki, but I had been thinking about his discomfort....can Reiki get sent like this, or is he becoming attuned to the energy himself I wonder?

I would appreciate any thoughts :)

Hi there helen

I get these sensations a lot on different parts of my body.

I asked a lot of questions about it at first and, for me, it appears to be angels or other beings, sometimes people I've known who aren't here any more.

I always say hello when I feel it. Sometimes I'm aware of it for hours on end. I think they come when I'm needing a cuddle, or to boost my confidence in my self, especially in those situations when you are absolutely sure about the way you feel and what you're saying is important but you can't find the right words or people don't, won't or can't listen or hear you.

I don't know what the others will say about this but I just smiled when I read this about you.

Your husband I'm not so sure about except it could be that he was wishing he could have reiki right then so received it. I don't see why he can't tap into it, especially since he knows about it. And there you were thinking about it anyway!! Perhaps the two of you could try experimenting - asking for reiki without anyone specifically sending it and see what happens.

I think this is quite exciting - have fun (I think reiki can be a lot of fun as well as healing.)

I too associate the feathery touches on the face with angels and guides. Sometimes it comes as comfort, at others i know they are indicating that something needs my attention.
Going 'inwards' then, usually brings an answer.
Your husband feeling the energy? Yes I think it is quite possible that he may feel it, both when you are thinking about him and from others.
For instance, I know you have often requested distant for him so have put a "Send whenever needed" tag to his name on my list. ~knowing that you will let us know when you both wish distant healing to be withdrawn~ and I am sure others probably do the same, so it is quite plausible, to me, that he can tap into the energy when he needs it.

I have been feeling a little low today and it's lovely to think that spirit are so close that they're giving me love and comfort in their own unique way :)

Talking of fun and Reiki...there is often much joy and laughter after a Reiki share....wonderful :)

I find this so comforting to think that it is an angel or guide....have been feeling a bit low today about Rob's back problems and my inability to help much.

Yes I have requested lots of distant on his behalf in the past, so it makes sense that he could be tapping into all that healing energy :)

Nothing of the sort. Understandably, it sounds as though you are 'attaching' to the outcome. Please, step aside, and let the reiki flow. You are not a failure, simply because the end results are not what you want them to be.
KNOW this, that if you were not sending reiki, Rob's back may be infinitely worse than it is now!!
Also (with tongue in cheek) does that mean the rest of us sending reiki have no 'ability' to 'help'? LOL

That's an interesting thought actually.....can a master or practitioner like yourself, that is very experienced in energy work tell the difference between energy sent with permission and energy sent without? I mean can you kind of program your higher self to only accept energy that you have given permission for...or doesn't it work quite like that? :))

I must admit that despite my efforts to not become attached to the outcome, I have. I would so love for him to be free from pain.

At the end of the day I know that Reiki is helping in it's own way and I think that this is very probably a lesson for me right now :) Every now and again, I get presented with this feeling and I guess I will keep being presented with it until I finally 'get it' and learn the lesson :))

Once a day I might take a moment or two to "open" up and check any energy that might have been sent my way -

- sometimes there appears not to be any :-}}

- Generally speaking, only what I want is accepted.

Is that higher self, "lower self" or Mindful Self?

I suspect many put a great deal of stock in a "higher self" as some sort of "independent" agent, so to speak -

- but from reading many many posts and e-mails it seems to me that there are any number of times peoples' higher selves are found sleeping on the job.

Quite so :))

Could it be a lack of connection or communication between lower and higher self or perhaps a case ot taking higher self too much for granted :))

I know this is probably way too complicated to explain through a computer rather than in person, but if you don't mind me asking ....how do you tell the difference between enrgy sent with or without permission?....or is it more a matter of becoming more experienced in recognising all types of energy or setting up a shield to only let in what you wish?

A Teacher once suggested that taking one's "higher self" for granted is, in the end (or the beginning), :-}} only take oneself for granted (which sometimes is a Shadow projection of taking others for granted)

From another perspective - in doing distance energy work it is possible to distinguish between an under-active energy field versus one which is "Intentionally" drawn in - where the person is being very "tentative" about receiving or is not being "receptive" - as in permisssion not given or permission denied.

I sometimes wish that I lived on your side of the pond...you guys are way ahead of us with Reiki and energy work...Reiki and Seichim over here are still fairly unusual and as for sweat lodges etc. they just don't seem to exist over here :)

I remember when you did K-Kokan for me the first time, that you said my energy field was drawn in....which made sense as I often make it a habit to protect myself before I go to sleep :)

If you have the time I would love to discuss this via e-mail....I am always interested in learning new things...as I'm quite sure you've already guessed from my incessant questions :))
