Namaste All.
Just wondered whether anyone else sometimes gets emotional when sending distant Reiki?
Yesterday, I was sending Reiki to a lady with cancer and all of a sudden I felt overwhelming sadness. I don't know the lady personally. This has happened once with a hands on, but not with distance work before. I was being very mindful whilst sending, so I wondered whether this is a usual reaction ?
Your thoughts would be much appreciated.

Helen,
Sometimes when you are doing a healing on another you pick up their emotions because you are in their soul space. Just feel it and then release it because it is not yours. The most important thing to know is that it is not yours. Or else you can get caught up in an emotion and think it is coming from you and you take it on. Just take a moment and breathe it out in love and light then center yourself and continue.
Much love,
Joanna

Namaste,
I feel the emotions of the others quite often. It is usually telling me where there needs to be help, clearing, etc. Sometimes I feel their delight. Or their fear. Joanna is correct. Feel it as a way of understanding what is happening with your client, and then let it go and move on. It will possibly make you a more understanding and wise healer.

Helen,
Emotions, yours or others will not 'hurt' you, unless you decide to 'take it on'. They are simply emotions, meant to tell you something. Once you have the knowledge, it is a simple matter to move on to the next area. You will probably feel in another what is closest to you in the direction of needing to heal.
I think every healing we do on another, teaches us something about ourselves. If you consider it a 'partnership' in healing, there is no need to avoid 'touching' a person where there is a lot of pain. (I am not talking about open wounds in the skin) Once you have experience in helping your client to have the emotional release he/she needs, the reiki flows much faster, clearer, etc.
Hope this helps, Love and Light Priestess

Priestees,
Many thanks, this is really good advice.
This is all such a huge learning curve for me and You're right I do often learn something new about myself after doing a healing on another, which kind of surprised me at first.
Thanks again.

Helen.
