Hi T2

When I first read your question I couldn't understand it. (Not that I think I do now!) However something whizzed back from my memory - perhaps you'd like to hear it - if not shut this off. :-}}}

I had (notice the past tense) a friend who was very ill and refusing help from everyone, therapists and doctors. She agreed to one distant session of reiki and was stunned by her experience - scared her a bit I think. I was very upset that she refused more but I stuck to my word at not sending it although I confess it was really hard.

I was just falling asleep one night when I felt a very strong presence beside me. I asked who it was and was given her name (plus her nickname). I was scared - I thought she'd died. She hadn't though but what came was 'have you heard of astral travel?' I had heard of it and in fact tried to do it but never managed it.

I asked what 'she' wanted and was told reiki. I said my friend had said no. 'She' then said that it would be alright to send it. I still said no but that if she wanted or needed love then 'she' could take as much as 'she' wanted and give it to my friend - it was unlimited as far as I was concerned. The next thing I knew there seemed to be a line of 'people' with a bucket in each hand all trooping off to my friend, presumably with buckets of love :-}}} This happened each night for about a week. Then I could feel her presence but no more talking. Now she's gone to live somewhere else and I don't have contact with her any more.

I don't suppose its what you meant but I suspect the answer is there is no difference. As always I look forward to hearing what others have to say.

Love

Eleanor

PS Some of the questions that are being posted are bringing up a great deal of odd memories. Its so good to talk about them, to share them. Thank you all.

Something whizzed back from your memory huh, you understood the question quite well don't you think. You were true to your word were you gave only one Reiki session. EXCELLENT !
Your friend confirmed astral projection to you did she not, and you did so without even trying (sort of)! It was reconfirmed that only one Reiki session was asked for.
You thought she died!! When ever something profound happens to us, funny we always think the worst
(well what we percieve as the worst).
I guess your a veteran of healing via astral travel and healing now...
Excellent.
Do you remember what color or colors were present during this event? Were you able to move your physical body ? It's very reassuring to know, that even during this event you still would not give a Reiki session without permission...
Excellent
What is first symbol of Reiki, draw it now ask yourself what that symbol means.. I believe it means love!!!
excellent.
I wish I could tell you why I wrote the question the way I did but I can't.
I can tell you however, that something very similar happen to me when I was in my late teens. The person who perceived me during that event was the mother of a friend of mind in a dire situation. She never told me or anyone about about what happened until very recently at her son's gravesite some thirty years later. Please allow me to tell you as she told it to me
"You came to my house and knocked on my window and told me my son would be alright and went left. At first I was frightened but then I recognized your voice. You told me my son was alright and my son was... alright. Your a very thoughtful and sensitive youngman" Elenor
I remember being at this friends house only once.
I don't know how long ago this happened with you but I hope you didn't have to wait thirty years. I suspect If this happens again you'll give Reiki right!

T2,

-Well, in one we might say it is "sent"

- in the other we might say it is "delivered in person".

Dearest T2

You seem more excited about this than I was - I still thought she'd yell at me for doing anything! :-}}}

I didn't 'go' anywhere - 'she' came to me in the astral.

I was in my bed reading when she turned up - I didn't know what else to think but that she had died - only 'dead' people had communicated with me like this in the past (and since as far as I know).

I so wanted to send reiki - conventionally. I hurt so much that she didn't allow herself to receive this or any energy from anyone. I respected that but was often in tears, knowing how much it would help her. For some reason she was so was full of fear it was destroying her.

No colours as far as I can remember and I felt quite normal - not unmoving or anything strange.

I think you're experience was amazing too. I've tried often to travel like this and have read a lot about it but so far its never happened. I expect that we all astral travel in dreams but don't remember. I look forward to the day when I can remember.

I am normally quite happy to send reiki and let the highest self deal with it but when someone actually says no every time its offered it would feel very wrong of me to go over their heads. My daughter of 15 won't let reiki near her. If I think she needs something I just stay close to her as much as I can and let her own higer self/energies take what she needs. A few times she's guessed at me giving her reiki during a cuddle, even if I've not meant to do it, and told me off. I'd rather she came to it willingly.

Thanks for sharing your story with us and for allowing me to share mine. I said on another post, I seem to be letting out a lot of strange stuff at the moment - I don't know who its for - perhaps its reminders for me but I hope others get some benefit from it - even if its from my mistakes.

Don't you think that sometimes we answer posts on the boards so that we can clarify some things that we just think about - perhaps we don't even need answers, just a place to set them down. We are very lucky to have these safe places to do this, and get support and guidance along the way.

Much love T2, Firekeeper, Zizzr, Holobon, Philanty, Jonjo, Redheaddragon, Jasanine, and all the other almost 900 folks out there.
